MapleStory’s urban legends grew out of the eerie undertones hidden beneath its charming pixel graphics. Picos highlighted the fun of imagining new stories by connecting NPC dialogue with map objects, as in the legend of Kerning City’s 니오라 Hospital.

Kerning City’s 니오라 Hospital features an NPC called “정체불명의 그녀.” Players linked her to details such as the wanted poster on the plastic surgery clinic’s wall and 나탈리 in Henesys, weaving an unsettling story. With parts of the lore left unexplained by official sources, players seem to have pieced together small clues to form their own interpretations.

With its long history, Nexus: The Kingdom of the Winds has its share of old rumors and enduring urban legends. Picos singled out the tale of Japanese monsters invading through the western coast.
