Collaborations between games and K-POP are a familiar sight now. Skins, soundtrack songs, and special events featuring popular artists often make a game even more enjoyable. Yet few of these collaborations go beyond promotion to fit naturally into a game's atmosphere and leave a lasting impression.

The K-POP collaboration that left the strongest impression on me was the 1st anniversary collaboration between 《Mabinogi Mobile》 and singer Ailee.

🎤 A Special Song for Adventurers

The song released to celebrate Mabinogi Mobile's 1st anniversary was Ailee's 'Grasp the Future'​.

Described as "a song for adventurers who push beyond their limits and keep going to the very end," it captured the game's themes of adventure and growth in both its atmosphere and its lyrics.

What made it feel even more special was that it wasn't simply a famous singer's song added to the game. It was a song created specifically for it.

⚔ The Soundtrack That Brought the Boss Battle Together

What made this song so memorable was the moment it began to play.

During an intense boss fight, as the battle approached its final phase, 'Grasp the Future'​ would begin to play.

The first time I experienced this, it gave me chills. Ailee's distinctively powerful, clear vocals and the sweeping melody heightened the tension and exhilaration. It truly felt as though I were drawing on my last reserves of strength to bring down the boss.

It felt like watching the climax of an anime, and that moment is still vivid in my memory.

🎶 Just Hearing the Song Meant "It's Almost Over!"

One particularly enjoyable part of this collaboration was how the song became a shared signal among players.

Whenever it started playing during a raid, my instinctive thought was, "We've almost got it!"

Since the song only played near the end of a boss fight, the music itself also helped players gauge the battle's progress.

I still vividly remember how, even when I was getting bored while playing with my party, hearing the song would bring my focus back for the rest of the fight.

💙 Why So Many Players Loved It

Alongside Ailee's powerhouse vocals, players loved the hopeful lyrics and stirring melody.

It was more than just a good song. It captured exactly how adventurers felt as they pushed toward victory at the end of a difficult battle.

That is why so many players, myself included, felt this collaboration really worked. We remember it as one of the K-POP collaborations that best matched the game it was made for.

🎧 A Song I Still Return To

Unfortunately, the 1st anniversary collaboration event has now ended, so the song can no longer be heard in the game.

Still, I occasionally look up 'Grasp the Future' on YouTube​ to listen to it.

Hearing it brings back memories of tackling raids with friends, the tension just before defeating a boss, and the sense of achievement when we finally cleared the raid.

It helped me appreciate how a good game soundtrack can stay with you long after you step away from the game.

I think music in games helps preserve our memories of the time we spend playing.

'Grasp the Future'​, from the collaboration between 《Mabinogi Mobile》 and Ailee, was more than just a K-POP tie-in. It was a special piece of the soundtrack that heightened both the tension of battle and the joy of victory.

Although it can no longer be heard in the game itself, this remains the most memorable K-POP gaming collaboration for me. If you haven't heard the song yet, I recommend giving it a listen. The music alone conveys the intensity of those battles.
