until I found myself doing it nonstop, completely losing track of time.

There's more to MapleStory than hunting and bossing.

Let's take a look at harvesting, an essential way to gather Alchemy materials!

Heading Out to Harvest

Use Quick Move in town to travel to <Ardentmill>.

Head through the portal at the bottom right of <Ardentmill> to reach the herb fields.

Harvesting Requirements

To enter the harvesting farm, you need to defeat 1000 monsters near your level.

Let's get those kills, then head back.

Harvesting Farm

My Herbalism level is 10, and I'm after Juniper Berry Seeds today, so

I'll be harvesting Violet Herbs at the Expert Harvesting Farm.

Here's what Violet Herbs look like.

You can get Juniper Berry Flowers, Juniper Berry Seeds, and Hyssop Flowers by harvesting them.

A single Juniper Berry Seed goes for a whopping 700,000 mesos on Scania, so

put on some YouTube to keep you going while you harvest, and watch your wallet fill up before you know it!

Leveling Up Herbalism

You gain EXP every time you successfully harvest herbs.

Honestly, though, there's not much worth selling at the early and middle levels, and leveling takes so long that

you'll save yourself some frustration by defeating Root Abyss bosses daily instead and collecting the tickets they drop to raise your profession level.

Harvesting Tips

The harvesting gear you equip affects your harvesting efficiency.

The profession merchant sells some gear, but...

I don't think it's particularly good value, so

I either harvest at a PC café or just harvest at home without bothering with that gear.
