Those moments when you just... can’t stop playing..!! #무한동력

Hello.!
In this post, I wanted to talk about those MapleLand moments
where once you get going... you just can’t stop.
Of course, there are tons of other games that are so fun
that once you pick them up, time just disappears, but
personally, I feel that happens to me the most when I’m playing MapleLand..
So I tried putting some of those moments into this post.
⚔ EXP / Progression
The one thing no Maple game can ever leave out: leveling up.!
Of course, with the way this game works, you can’t just rocket through levels all at once, but
I’m the type to play with little personal goals in mind, so
there’s always that moment where I start saying, just a little more.. just a little more..!
For example, if my current EXP is sitting at 61%,
I’ll do one more lap thinking should I just fill it to 70%..? so I can round it off by 10%,
and then the second I actually hit 70%, that turns into maybe I should push it to 75%..?
and those moments where you can’t stop once the grind starts come around pretty often.
And for people who put together a party and hunt in timed sessions,
it’s honestly not that rare to see them keep going like they’ve got infinite stamina,
partly because it feels a little disappointing to stop, and partly because they’re still feeling fine physically as players.
Especially if there’s an event going on for hunting level range monsters, or you’ve been given some EXP coupons?
Ah ㅋㅋ you really can’t resist that~
You can easily end up grinding hard enough to burn through a few EXP coupons in no time.
Kind of like pushing a little more, a little harder, when you work out to build muscle,
I think MapleLand rewards the time you invest with that level-up moment at the end.
🪙Loot / Farming
Another core part of Maple games is farming, and that’s impossible to leave out too.
Personally, I’d say it has even more infinite-drive energy than progression does.
Mainly when you’re trying to get high-value equipment, scrolls, and Mastery Books,
there are plenty of times when you just can’t stop hunting, but..
Taking the recently updated Crimsonwood Keep in Masteria as an example,
a lot of players are currently grinding hard for badge farming.
Some people just hit their daily target amount (50 + 25 each) and head out, but
once you’ve already claimed a spot on the map, it’s easy to keep farming while thinking, just one more.. just one more..!
I’m the same way—once I lock down a spot, I try to scoop up as much as possible
(as long as my potions can keep up), and I’ve definitely gone hard on the farming because of that.
Even when you’re hunting for loot like this, there are cases where it connects with quests, and
there are also plenty of times when people go into full infinite-grind mode to gather quest items themselves .
Looking at recently updated content,
Typhon Feathers, which can’t be traded with other players, would probably be the best example, but
as for me, I’m currently in infinite grind mode over the Making Energy Juice quest.
It’s a quest where you have to collect special items that drop from monsters at very low rates,
and because the map layout isn’t great and the drop rate is low, it’s honestly one of the rougher quests out there.
Now that there’s a bigger supply of the items and they’re tradable, it’s easy to clear, but..
if you want to collect everything yourself and clear it that way, once you boot up the game, you just can’t stop.
This is another one where, if you set yourself a goal and think,
today, let’s just get 5 special items, including equipment! before you start hunting,
then after you get them all, you suddenly find yourself thinking ah, I’m feeling pretty good today... maybe I should get a few more..?
and you end up falling into a hunt you can’t pull yourself away from.
If the item you wanted drops, it feels great and you think man, good thing I kept going..!
and even if an item you didn’t want drops, it still feels satisfying because you can think well, I got some good data out of it.
(Personally, it’s also been a huge help for building out a monster encyclopedia.)
So that was a look at those moments when, once I started playing, I just couldn’t stop.
I think it’s probably because I enjoy games by setting little personal goals for myself,
so once I start, I lose track of time and just keep going.
Have you all ever had a similar experience too?
