Lunar New Year is just around the corner! We get a nice holiday in February, right? And what better way to spend a holiday than playing MapleLand! So today, let’s go over the quest called New Year’s Greeting.

New Year’s Greeting

At the Maple Mailbox, the Maple Admin asks the player for help with the Lunar New Year celebration.

The first mission is to give New Year’s greetings to the sages in each town. You need to greet them in order: Dances with Balrog in Perion, Grendel the Really Old in Ellinia, Athena Pierce in Henesys, and Dark Lord in Kerning City.

They say these NPCs give out pretty nice rewards for the greeting. Anyway, off to Victoria Island—고고씽!

First up is the Warrior job instructor, Dances with Balrog. When he asks what brings the player here, the player says they came to offer New Year’s greetings.

He happily welcomes you and gives you a reward: 2 Double EXP Coupons.

After that, he gives the player a New Year’s card and asks them to deliver it to Grendel.

Next, I headed to Grendel, the job instructor in Ellinia, delivered the New Year’s card, and received 2 more Double EXP Coupons.

Then I got a New Year’s card from him as well. The next stop is the Archer job instructor, Athena Pierce.

After going to Henesys and handing Athena Pierce the New Year’s card, she recognizes that it’s from Grendel and gives me 2 more Double EXP Coupons.

Now for the final New Year’s greeting: Dark Lord, the Thief job instructor in Kerning City. Straight to Kerning City—고고씽!

After speaking with Dark Lord in Kerning City and handing over Athena Pierce’s New Year’s card, he welcomes the player and gives 2 more Double EXP Coupons.

Finally, after getting a red lucky pouch from Dark Lord and returning to the Maple Admin, I received 2 Double EXP Coupons.

Now this is the real final quest. You’ll need to hunt monsters within your level range. It’s not about the number of monsters, though—you need to collect 5 bokjori, which drop as quest items from them.

I’m level 70, so I had to hunt monsters in the level 60–80 range. I went to The Grave of Ancient Ruins and hunted Skeleton Commanders.

For reference, there’s a really good hunting spot in Grave of Ancient Ruins 4. Stand at the second upper stair near the top and use Heal to clear the monsters.

You can also bring a party if you want. That’s because if another player hunts below, the monsters above respawn well.

Reward

Anyway, once you’ve collected all 5 bokjori, the final reward is 2 Double EXP Coupons, 3 2026 Golden Compasses, and 100 Rice Cake Soups.

Wrapping Up

Today, we went over the MapleLand Lunar New Year event quests, New Year’s Greeting and Bamboo Bokjori and Lucky Pouch. With 12 EXP coupons, 3 Golden Compasses, and even Rice Cake Soup, the rewards are seriously great. If you’re playing MapleLand, it’s definitely worth clearing these as soon as you can!
