New Year’s Greetings

The Maple Administrator sends you a request through the Maple Mailbox, asking for a favor to help welcome the Lunar New Year.

Your first task is to visit the elders in each town and offer New Year’s greetings. You’ll need to greet them in this order: Dances with Balrog in Perion, Grendel the Really Old in Ellinia, Athena Pierce in Henesys, and Dark Lord in Kerning City.

They’re said to have some great rewards for anyone who comes to greet them. Let’s head to Victoria Island!

First up is Dances with Balrog, the Warrior job instructor. When he asks what brings you here, you explain that you’ve come to offer New Year’s greetings.

He’s happy to see you and gives you 2 Double EXP Coupons as a reward.

He also gives you a New Year’s card to deliver to Grendel the Really Old.

Next, visit Grendel the Really Old, the job instructor in Ellinia. Deliver the New Year’s card to receive another 2 Double EXP Coupons.

Collect a New Year’s card from him, then head to your next stop: Athena Pierce, the Bowman job instructor.

Head to Henesys and hand Athena Pierce the New Year’s card. She recognizes it as a card from Grendel the Really Old and gives you another 2 Double EXP Coupons.

Your last New Year’s greeting is for Dark Lord, the Thief job instructor in Kerning City. Let’s head straight there!

Speak to Dark Lord, the Thief job instructor in Kerning City. He accepts Athena Pierce’s New Year’s card, welcomes you, and gives you another 2 Double EXP Coupons.

Finally, collect a red lucky pouch from Dark Lord and return to the Maple Administrator to receive 2 Double EXP Coupons.

Bamboo Lucky Scoops and Lucky Pouches

Now for the final quest! This time, you’ll hunt monsters within your level range. Rather than defeat a set number of monsters, you need to collect 5 Lucky Scoops, which they drop as quest items.

Since I’m level 70, I need to hunt monsters in the level 60–80 range. I went to the Tomb of Ruins to hunt Officer Skeletons.

There’s a handy hunting spot in Tomb of Ruins 4. Just stand on the second step of the stairs in the upper area and use Heal to take down the monsters.

Bringing a party along can help, too. That’s because having another player hunt down below helps keep monsters spawning up top.

Rewards

Once you’ve collected all 5 Lucky Scoops, your final rewards are 2 Double EXP Coupons, 3 2026 Golden Compasses, and 100 Rice Cake Soups.

Wrapping Up
