Today, we're continuing our walkthrough of the Mapleland Snowflake Coin event quests. Our next stop is Kerning City, where we'll pick up a quest from Nella. Let's head over and see what she needs. This time, we're tackling Kerning City's Winter Preparations.

Nella

Nella is one of Kerning City's most recognizable NPCs. Along with Icarus, she was a familiar face who really stuck in your memory. I think it's been almost 2 years since I last saw her. Let's talk to her and get the winter preparations underway.

Like the previous NPCs, Nella is shivering in the cold. It really is a chilly winter. Still, she says staying indoors leaves her feeling cooped up and somehow out of touch with the times. She gave in to her mom's nagging and brought plenty of heat packs along, but they've since gone cold, so she needs some fresh ones. She asks us to find more before she turns into an icicle. Why she needs our help when she could just buy them from a shop is beyond me, though...

According to JM From tha Street, the monsters around Kerning City carry heat packs. Our character tells Nella not to make things up, but she's about to turn into an icicle and asks us to take his word for it. In any case, she needs 5 heat packs in total. Only in Maple World would you find monsters carrying heat packs in winter. This world's little details really are something.

How to Get Heat Packs

I wasn't too picky about where to hunt for heat packs, so I headed to the nearest hunting ground: the Kerning City construction site. There, I hunted weaker monsters such as Snails, Orange Mushrooms, and Octopuses.

Once again, the drop rate is fairly decent. Pick up any heat packs you spot, and keep hunting until you have 5 in total. Like the previous winter preparation quests, this takes less than 5 minutes, so there's no need to worry. Once you've collected all 5, head straight back to Nella.

Rewards

Back at Nella, the heat packs are proof that JM was telling the truth. I still have no idea why the monsters were carrying them in the first place. Regardless, I handed them over to Nella before she could turn into an icicle.

Nella warms up and is no longer in danger of becoming an icicle. Instead, she has the rather odd worry that she might turn red like an Octopus. On that note, the quest ends, and we receive Snowflake Coins as a reward.

Gaga's Shop

I bought another 2x EXP Coupon, leaving just 1 in stock. The event is nearly over, though, so I'll need to work through these quests quickly.

Wrapping Up

The quest is available until Thursday, February 6, so I'll need to finish up before Thursday rolls around. I'll be back with the next winter preparation quest. If you haven't completed these yet, be sure to tackle them soon—there isn't much time left.
