The game I play is MapleStory

And since “story” is literally in the name, Maple’s worldbuilding is pretty charming,

so a lot of players are super into the story, but I’m really not, so

for stuff you’re basically forced to do, like the main quest,

I just spam the spacebar like crazy, so honestly I barely know any of the story ㅎㅎ;

Out of all the forced story quests, the absolute worst was Black Heaven

It wasn’t fun, it wasn’t touching, it just ate up a disgusting amount of time, and the quest itself was pretty hard too, so

all I have left from that one are terrible memories..

But there is exactly one story I actually paid attention to,

and that was my main’s class story, Hoyoung!

Docheol was sealed on the mountain out back by Master, and while Master’s away

he calls out to Hoyoung and asks him to undo the seal,

but Hoyoung knows nothing in this world is free,

so he just toys with Docheol a bit and leaves.

But the talisman had lost its stickiness from being slapped on and peeled off over and over,

so the wind blows it right off and it fallsK-124

and that’s when Docheol appears.

Hoyoung tries to seal

Docheol away with a talisman he stole from Master’s drawer, but

only Docheol ends up sealed inside Hoyoung’s body,

and he winds up releasing all the other monsters into the world.

Once Docheol gets sealed into Hoyoung’s body, he turns into this tiny cute form,

and then Hoyoung heads out to round up the monsters that got loose, which is where the story really starts,

Along the way there’s a part where he works as a fixer and learns Geunduun, Hoyoung’s unique class skill,

and I really liked how the story naturally worked in the process of learning a class-exclusive skill,

and the part where he runs into a rat yokai disguised as a handsome mage and immediately pulls the classic thirty-six stratagems, aka just booking it,

was so cute because it was such a Hoyoung thing to doㅋㅋ

After that he goes to Maple World, and at certain level milestones you do Hoyoung’s class quest, Strange Seal Quest,

and I remember those being fun too, so I actually watched them properly instead of skipping.

At first I picked him as my main because I liked the character design and the skill effects,

but after going through Hoyoung’s story, I ended up liking Hoyoung himself.

Now even if Hoyoung’s performance sucks, I can’t drop him anymore..ㅎ

In Maple, even if you skip every other story,

I really think you should at least watch the story for the class you picked as your main!
