Today, for the first time in a really long while, I’m putting together a MapleLand quest guide. It does feel like I’m a bit late to this one, but I wanted to cover it anyway. This time, we’re looking at Fairy Wing’s quest, Ellinia’s Winter Preparations.

Fairy Wing

When you talk to Fairy Wing, he asks if you have something to say to him. The player answers that they’re not human, but Too1s.

He seems fully aware that his own name is a bit funny too. Anyway, he says human names are all more or less the same, so there’s no reason to bother remembering them. If you don’t have any business with him, he tells you to move along. (And your name is somehow that different...?)

When the player asks whether he gets cold too, he admits that he does. The player then asks why he doesn’t just wear thicker clothes.

But according to him, thick clothes are too heavy, so he wouldn’t be able to move around properly. He says clothes made from fluff as light as air might be a different story. Naturally, the player asks where you’re supposed to get something like that.

Fairy Wing says the player is being a nuisance, and that this fluff is extremely rare, so it’s not easy to obtain. He explains that before winter comes, fairies gather 5 pieces of fluff as light as air and make clothes out of it.

That said, he insists he would never ask a human for a favor like this, and if you really want to help, you can do whatever you want. He makes sure to point out that he’s not actually asking. Total tsundere behavior, honestly. He listens to the player, lets you help, and somehow still acts prickly about it, which is kind of endearing.

He says you can help if you want, but it won’t be easy. The reason is that the fluff is so light and transparent that it’s hard to spot. Still, he does explain how to get it: defeat the monsters in Ellinia that live in the tall trees.

How to Get Fluff

To get fluff, you can simply hunt any monster in Ellinia. The drop rate feels pretty average. Even so, if you spend just a few minutes hunting, you should be able to collect all 5. Since it drops from Ellinia monsters in general, this part is fairly convenient.

Rewards

Anyway, once you bring all 5 back to Fairy Wing, he says he’ll accept them at least in recognition of your sincerity and tells you to leave them there. He doesn’t exactly thank you outright, but he does accept them because he appreciates the gesture, which really cements him as one of Maple’s most tsundere characters.

Anyway, the reward is 1 Snowflake Coin and 70 EXP. The EXP isn’t really the important part here—the 1 Snowflake Coin is the part that matters.

Today, we went over Ellinia’s Winter Preparations. The event runs until the first half of February, and there are still plenty of winter preparation quests left, so it’s best to clear them as soon as you can.
