In this post, I’d like to take a look at several distinctive fonts developed by Nexon Korea.

Fonts appear on screen as a very important element that helps us read and write text,

and beyond functioning as simple lettering, they are also a distinctive element that can carry unique design and personality.

Especially in games, a single typeface design can

shape the overall atmosphere of the game or even become a symbol of the game itself because of those qualities

so while it is easy to overlook at first glance, it is never something that can truly be ignored.

For that reason, various typefaces used in Nexon games

are also produced and offered separately as fonts

so that players can freely use them in all kinds of ways outside the games as well.

At the moment, there are 10 free fonts and 1 paid font available,

and while I like all of them overall because each one shows off its own design and character,

I’d like to introduce 3 fonts in particular that stood out to me.

Nexon Bazzi

Nexon Bazzi is a typeface selected through a public contest,

and one of its key features is that it is a font directly created by a user who enjoys the game.

As for the design,

since Bazzi is one of the characters that represents the casual side of Nexon titles like Crazy Arcade and KartRider,

the font has an overall rounded and soft feel.

(Doesn’t it naturally bring Bazzi from the actual game to mind?)

With that in mind, I think Nexon Bazzi is a font that suits very lighthearted situations such as chatting with friends or writing a diary.

Nexon MapleStory

The Nexon MapleStory typeface is a font created based on the atmosphere of MapleStory,

and it really does give off that unmistakable MapleStory feeling.

In terms of design, it feels neat and clearly formed without coming across as stiff,

and because areas that might otherwise look sharp are expressed in a slightly softened, blunt way,

it gives off a cuter and brighter impression than some of the other fonts.

Because of that, I think Nexon MapleStory is a font that works especially well in situations where you are explaining specific content.

In fact, I also use it in a variety of ways, including subtitles and thumbnails in videos,

so it feels like quite a versatile font overall.

Nexon Kart Gothic

Nexon Kart Gothic is a typeface that was actually used in KartRider: Drift,

and it gives off a clearly different impression from the other fonts covered here.

Its slightly rigid overall feel and vertically stretched design

make it feel as if it could burst upward at any moment with the sudden acceleration of a drift boost.

With that in mind, I think it would work well in situations where you want to create immediate impact and visually emphasize specific content.

Although KartRider: Drift has ended its service and only this font remains,

let’s look forward to KartRider Classic, which is set to release before too long.

How to Download and Apply

Once you’ve downloaded the font you like and extracted the archive,

you’ll be able to see both the .ttf file and the .otf file, as shown in the image.

To briefly explain the difference between the two,

.ttf is a font specialized for general document use, with fast loading speed as its main advantage,

while .otf differs in the way it handles curves, making its advantage the ability to use clean, refined text with higher image quality.

Now all you have to do is click the Install button in the upper left,

and the font will be saved on your PC so you can use it freely.!

All rights to these typefaces, including intellectual property rights, belong to Nexon Korea,

but since commercial use and distribution are freely permitted, you can use them without much concern.

However, editing the font files themselves or selling them for a fee is prohibited,

and since indicating the source of the typeface is recommended, you should use them carefully while making sure not to violate copyright rules.
