MapleStory Challengers World diary, plus a mid-event check-in on the winter event #다마고치
마빡도로시
Hello
The keyword for this post is Tamagotchi—by that, I mean the kind of game experience you end up checking on every day and every week, almost like you're raising a Tamagotchi.
With that in mind, this time I wanted to share my experience in Challengers World, and since the main winter event is already quite a bit underway, I also gathered up some event-related points that seem especially worth checking now, partly as a reminder for myself too.
[Challengers World], the thing that keeps me logging in every day
Since MapleStory events are built around daily and weekly attendance, you more or less have to log in almost every day, but even though there are a lot of different events running at once, the time needed for the essential rewards is not actually that long, and because they overlap well like this, it somehow becomes even easier to keep checking in.
Once Thursday passes, they start getting cleared out one by one,
and if I manage to finish even this when I have the time, it feels oddly satisfying.
So far, I have managed to keep up with all of the essential events without missing any.
I even made the classic dumb mistake of finishing all the investigation missions, then going off to grind without actually doing the growth part..
I am looking forward to seeing how much the Fairy Heart, this week's final reward, actually helps.
The Arcane River daily symbol quests wrapped up as of today, so that was honestly a relief.
This was my final daily quest clear in this Challengers World, but after thinking about it afterward, I realized that if another pass comes out I will probably have to do it all over again, so I deleted the Guide quick-move tab and then restored it again..
Even if I cannot get around to the other daily bosses, I still make sure to run Arkarium and Pink Bean every day, but so far there have been no meaningful equipment drops. I am just hoping at least one shows up before the period ends.
Kai also still has not given me any lucky drop.
I had also been buying all of the barrier control rods every week for the Mysterious Barrier, but it finally appeared this week, so I feel a lot more at ease now. Last season it really showed up at the very end, but this time the appearance rate seems higher, and they are also selling 10 more control rods than before, so I think that probably helped.
For now, I reached the Diamond tier I was originally aiming for, so of course it would be nice if I could eventually make it to Master tier as well, but personally I am not expecting too much. Still, I plan to keep logging in until the end and do as much as I can.
Tomorrow, the newly announced Sunday Maple that was previewed will begin, and I definitely want to take part. If you stay logged in for 3 hours, you can get a total of 1 Sol Erda and 100 Sol Erda Fragments, so if you have the time, it seems worth doing.
One additional notice that came out afterward is that event progress is shared within the Maple ID, and the reward claim and usage periods are as shown below, so please do keep that in mind so you do not end up missing a claim or letting something expire unused.
Status of the remaining major events: [Challengers Pass] : ~2/11
First of all, Challengers Pass ends on February 11.
Since this was one of the events that started right at the beginning, I imagine a lot of people have already cleared everything and claimed all the rewards, but if anyone has let it slip their mind, this is the part to finish up.
For this event, the reward items matter too of course, but realistically the Premium Pass effect is the bigger point, and based on last summer's Challengers World, a new pass went on sale after the Challengers Pass ended.
The pass sold under the name [Frontier Pass] had the same mission structure and a similar reward lineup to the Challengers Pass, but since the Premium Pass was priced at 49800 Maple Points, if it comes back in the same form this time, it would presumably be purchasable for 49800 Nexon Cash as well. Of course, the exact details should be something we can confirm in the next test world.
Status of the remaining major events: [Burning Express] : ~2/11
Burning Express also ends on February 11, and the Express Boosters obtained from this event can only be used until 2:00 on February 12, so you will want to use them before then.
It was mentioned earlier on the live broadcast that this was moved forward from the point where it would normally happen in the latter half of the winter event, so the chances of seeing a similar event again later seem fairly low.
Status of the remaining major events: [Tallahart Fantasia] : ~3/18
The [Tallahart Fantasia] event runs for 13 weeks in total, through 3/18, and we are already nearing the end of week 6, so half of the 1/2 page is basically filled. Since there are 12 total reward rows across 13 weeks, you effectively have 1 week of breathing room.
The rewards for the remaining weeks are arranged like this, so excluding this week, the remaining reward counts are as follows.
-
Advanced EXP Exchange Coupon: 6000
-
VIP Booster: 30
-
Karma Black Rebirth Flame: 200
-
Experience Core Gemstone: 100
-
Special Medal of Honor: 50
-
VIP Sauna Pass: 6 tickets (3 hours)
-
Transcendent Growth Potion (~269): 1
-
Karma Star Force 17-Star Enhancement Scroll: 1
-
Karma Black Cube: 20
-
Karma White Additional Cube: 20
-
Legendary Growth Potion (~279): 1
The EXP-related rewards, especially the growth potions, look like they should be a big help with Challengers World missions.
Based on the 30 attendance checks remaining, the attendance rewards you can still obtain are as follows. Also, the [Magic of Illusion] tonic remains active for 1 additional week after the event ends, so its effect continues until 3/25.
-
3x EXP Coupon: total 90
-
[Magic of Illusion Enhancement] SP: 150 SP each in total
Among the remaining attendance rewards, the cosmetic items look like this. For the final cosmetic reward, the Illusory Tallahart character selection screen theme, there is no official preview image available yet, but judging by the quality of the selection screen themes we have had so far, I have a feeling this one will turn out quite nicely too.
-
Blooming Illusion Effect
-
Tallahart Festival Set
-
Tallahart Custom Background
-
[Maple Home Furniture] Tree Under Falling Illusions
Status of the remaining major events: [Ellanos Chronicle] : ~3/18
The [Ellanos Chronicle] event also runs for a total of 13 weeks through 3/18. You can investigate up to 60 times during the event period, so just like the attendance event, it is now exactly halfway through and also has 1 spare week. Assuming this week's investigation is already done, there are 30 runs left, so the total number of Illusion Coins still obtainable is 24000.
As for Ellanos's growth, you can simply keep doing what you have been doing so far, and the EXP effect goes up to stage 6, while the attack range increase goes up to stage 3.
All of the remaining Ancient Power effects are also the sort of thing where it is better to claim them as soon as Thursday resets and then do the related content afterward, so that is something worth remembering all the way to the end.
Status of the remaining major events: [Memories of Illusion] : ~3/18
The weekly boss coin event also runs until 3/18. Unlike the two events above, though, you can still participate through the final week, so with 7 weeks remaining, the remaining obtainable amount is simply your weekly amount multiplied by 7.
The weekly boss coin shop can also be used through the final week, so its stock refreshes continue all the way to the end as well.
Status of the remaining major events: [Wintering Mission] : ~3/18
The Wintering Mission also runs until 3/18. Before the event ends, you should make sure to clear the step-up missions and claim all of the rewards.
The weekly missions are also available through the final week, so there are 7 weeks left. The remaining reward counts are as follows.
-
3x EXP Coupon (30 min): 14
-
VIP Booster: 70
-
VIP Sauna Pass: 14 (7 hours)
For this [VIP Sauna], the expiration is fairly generous all the way to June 17, so once you charge it up, you just need to spend the time before then.
Status of the remaining major events: [Challengers World] : ~4/15
This Challengers World has been shortened by 1 month compared to before, running for 4 months and a total of 17 weeks, which means that as of next week there will be 11 weeks left. So, whatever your goal is, it needs to be reached within those 11 weeks.
Accordingly, the coins obtainable from the hunting mission come to a total of 10500 if you keep full attendance for 7 weeks.
The season boss Kai is also listed through April 15, so you can defeat him 11 more times in total.
The world itself remains until before the 4/16 maintenance, but mission completion and entry to Kai are only available until 23:59 on April 15. After maintenance, you will be moved to a map exclusively for world leap, and the final leap period will begin.
Since it was announced that the next anniversary event will begin immediately after the [Night of Falling Illusions] event ends, it seems likely that at least the early part of the anniversary event will also be playable in Challengers World. It usually has more volume than a standard coin shop event, so I can only hope it ends up being even more helpful for growth in Challengers World.
Thank you for reading.
