Honestly, whenever I play a football game, I always lean toward the romance of it first—but with the way inflation has been lately, I’ve kind of had no choice but to settle for a value-focused 24EP squad.

With the FC I’d saved up, I bought some 26 TOTY-related boxes, and luckily enough I pulled Declan Rice, the key midfielder for Arsenal, who are currently top of the EPL this season! It wasn’t a completely outrageous hit or anything, but since there’s no way I can put together an Arsenal squad right now, I’m going to sell him 눈물을 머금고 and use that to build a Germany squad instead, since they’re famous for being so strong for the price.

A Germany squad built on BP that’s just a little awkward

Most of the 24EP cards I was already using were German players anyway, and with Brandt popping out of a player pack too, I figured I’d use the BP I had on hand and finally try out some of the players people have been raving about.

I’d used Reus on the cheap before, and I wanted to give him another run at CAM, so I slotted him into Squad Maker. Then in midfield I went with Germany’s Gullit, Beckenbauer, and for the last spot Joshua Kimmich, whose silver card has now somehow become a value pick too.

I ended up on a Germany squad while running a 24EP single-season team, and because I wanted to take Henrichs out at center back and use Rüdiger instead, I went for an upgrade attempt... and it blew up, though I barely managed to restore him in the end. Since there’s a full 3-point gap in overall, I’m planning to use both and see for myself which one actually feels better in game!

I still haven’t been able to buy either Reus or Beckenbauer yet, so BP is looking pretty tight right now, but I’m going to join as many events as I can and save up as much BP as possible.

How to join the event

FC Online has gone through a bunch of UI changes, and now it’s become much easier to claim in-game rewards too. This used to be one of the more confusing parts, especially when you were trying to figure out what you still had to collect after playing, but now if there are rewards waiting, you can just hit Claim All, and I really liked that it lets you grab not just BP but FC as well.

There’s also a Zlatan event running on the web event side right now. Between the fee coupons, BP, and even player packs being handed out through the attendance event and other rewards, it honestly feels like a really good time to stock up.

My goal from here is to finish building my FC Online squad within a week! So what about you all—why not set yourselves one goal to hit within a week and hop into the game?
