Today, January 23, a new event was added in MapleLand. It’s one of the level-range quests, Gold Richie’s Compass, so let’s take a look at it. It’s been a while since I last did this quest, so let’s get started.

Gold Richie

He introduces himself as Gold Richie, a world-famous merchant. He also calls himself the wealthiest person in Maple World. But apparently, pigs have shown up in his treasure vault and are eating through his treasure.

Anyway, he tells you to defeat a total of 200 level-range monsters. Since I’m level 70, that means I need to hunt monsters that are level 70 or higher.

Defeating level-range monsters (Level 70 and up)

I hunted Zaties at Magatia’s Hidden Street map, Authorized Personnel Only. For level 70 and up, this map is basically a hot place. Just keep in mind that a lot of level 70+ players hunt here, so it can be surprisingly hard to claim a map. Because of that, you’ll probably need to switch channels quite a bit.

Once you finish the hunting part, Gold Richie gives you a Golden Compass. If you double-click it, you’ll be moved to the vault, where he asks you to defeat the pigs that are eating up his treasure.

Then he tells you to hunt the Golden Pigs and bring back any egg items you find.

Compass

You’ll find the Golden Compass in your Use inventory. Like I mentioned earlier, double-clicking it will move you to the vault.

Anyway, once you enter Gold Richie’s treasure vault, hunt the Golden Pigs and bring back the eggs. You only get 1 minute, so use that time to collect as many eggs as possible.

Anyway, once the time limit runs out, you can talk to Gold Richie and exchange them for EXP.

The EXP reward is pretty big, at around a quarter of a level. It gives more than an EXP coupon, and since you can do it once per day, it’s a nice way to level up faster.

The items you can get from Golden Eggs are listed above. Most of them are time-limited, so you’ll want to use them before they expire. However, the Mysterious Bundle can be stored permanently. The belt is temporary too, but you can still enhance it with Belt Stat Scrolls, so keep that in mind. If you keep clearing this quest every day, it’s a nice way to gain both levels and items.
