Squirrel Appreciation Day—let’s meet the adorable little creatures across Nexon games that are every bit as cute as squirrels!
피스타임
Hello!
This is Nexon Picker PISSTIME.
Do you know what day January 21 is?
It’s none other than Squirrel Appreciation Day.
It’s said that American wildlife enthusiast Christy Hargrove created it in 2001
to show that squirrels are more than just cute animals—
they store seeds in the forest and help trees reproduce,
play an important role in keeping the ecosystem in balance, and even spend the winter alongside people.
When you think of squirrels, is there a Nexon game that comes to mind?
For me, it’s The Kingdom of the Winds.
Nexon, release more squirrels!
Squirrels in The Kingdom of the Winds
You know The Kingdom of the Winds Classic launched in November 2024, right?
I was playing pretty seriously back then, and I even leveled up a Mage.
So for Squirrel Appreciation Day, I logged in again for the first time in a while.
The squirrels that appear in The Kingdom of the Winds
used to be a fantastic source of EXP for beginners.
There were so many people that there just weren’t enough squirrels to go around,
so the line players shouted—“Nexon, release more squirrels!”—is still famous even now.
I’ve seen that same line pop up in The Kingdom of the Winds Classic too.
In The Kingdom of the Winds, squirrels are beginner EXP,
and they also drop the acorns you need to learn early-game spells,
so you could really call them a tree that gives endlessly.
Squirrels like these deserve a little extra care in real life too, right?
As precious as squirrels,
my pets
I’ve got pets in Mabinogi Mobile that are just as cute as squirrels too.
My first legendary pet, Binggyeori, is a Light Gray Raccoon.
My second pet, which I pulled during the Sanrio collab,
Pompompurin Lover Shih Tzu.
The best part is that pudding pops out when you pet it!
There’s also the Brown Baby Bear, which MobiNogi players really love (for its performance).
Since it wears a skirt, it also goes by the nickname “Skirt Bear.”
Its special talent is lying down and rolling around.
So today, in celebration of Squirrel Appreciation Day,
I introduced some adorable squirrel-like creatures from Nexon games.
If you have a small but precious presence in your life too, let me know!
