One thing you absolutely have to do in the game: deliver the Time Capsule! 🎁

Hello, I’m

I often catch myself daydreaming, “What if I could go back with all the knowledge I have now?”

So this time, I put together 3 things I’d want to say to players who’ll be gaming far off in the future. Let’s go!

Buy everything you want (feat. old label items)

Back when I first really got into MapleStory 8 years ago, there was one outfit combo I absolutely wanted. It was the Tea Party King Ribbon, Flying Romance, Luya Hair, and Lively Traveler combo—the colors were just so pretty.

At the time, each piece was at least 5 billion mesos, so it was definitely a lot of pressure, but I still pushed myself to buy them because I kept thinking, “If I don’t get this now, I’m 100% going to regret it.”

You have no idea how happy I was when I finally completed the full set!!! And do you know what happened to those items I worked so hard to collect 8 years later?

Now they’re considered absolute jackpot old label items, with each piece nearing over 50 billion mesos. Even back then, they were so pretty that I had a feeling they’d go up for sure—but I never expected them to rise this much.

I still wear them sometimes even now ㅎㅎ Pretty old label items always go up, so if there’s something you want, don’t hold back—just buy it!

Take lots of screenshots

When I look at photos I took as a kid, I get weirdly sentimental and happy thinking back on those memories. Games are the same way. I really think the more screenshots you took back then, the more good things come from it.

If you save lots of screenshots—events that were running at the time, trendy outfits, the UI, funny moments, group photos, and all that—you’ll be able to revisit those old memories later. People live on memories, right? I really think this matters a lot.

I’m honestly a little sad that I don’t have many MapleStory screenshots. So these days, I’ve been carefully saving lots of screenshots in Mabinogi Mobile, which I’ve really been enjoying lately.

Stock up on rare items

Items that were released “back then” keep going up in value day by day unless the game company brings them back. Rare items can also bring back old memories when you look at them. A couple of representative examples are Coke Town and the Coca-Cola Shield.

Even now, when people occasionally show them off through item tags, I can’t help but go, “Wow~” What’s more, even clean-item prices get expensive, so if something looks pretty or feels like it might become rare later, it’s not a bad idea to stash it away.

Everything I wrote today is something that also applies to me, the one who’ll be reading this 5 to 7 years from now. It kind of feels like I’m writing a letter to myself. From here on out, I want to keep enjoying games and keep collecting things that have the potential to become rare items. Hehe
