While checking out the newly added Nexon PEAK challenges, I found something really fun: Living by a Fortune Cookie!

A fortune cookie is a snack with a little paper slip inside that has your fortune written on it, and it’s supposed to symbolize good luck. So I decided to spend my gaming life exactly the way my fortune cookie told me to, just to see what kind of luck might be following me!

My fortune cookie message was surprisingly sentimental. It said, “When things get hard, pause for a moment and gently comfort yourself.” Honestly, it really is such a nice line, and it did make me feel a little comforted... but how was I supposed to live my gaming life based on that..?

As soon as I saw the words hardship, comfort, and sentiment, only one place came to mind, so I opened MapleStory right away.

You know how movie or anime protagonists always seem to have that one place they go to when life gets hard? For me, that place is “Where the Spirit Tree Is Seen” in the Arcana region. A lot of different memories are tied to this spot.

The first time I successfully self-crafted an Arcane weapon, and the times my friends and I gathered there to chat before they quit Maple

Whenever I wanted to listen to quiet, mystical in-game BGM, I always came to “Arcana - Where the Spirit Tree Is Seen.” Sitting there quietly and listening to that calm BGM again after so long made me feel at peace.

There are a few things I want to achieve in 2026, but this made me realize I probably don’t need to rush so much. I’ll keep working hard, just without pushing myself too far.

So then I started thinking about what kind of small gift I should give myself this time,

and the Daybreak Pendant I blew up last time while going for 22 stars caught my eye. Alright, here we go..

Ah..

Welp, back to the hunting grounds to farm mesos~

I’ll definitely hit it next time!

So that’s how I tried living my gaming life the way the fortune cookie told me to. I’m usually so busy getting swept up in real life, but this gave me a chance to look back on old memories for the first time in a while and let my heart relax a little.
