While browsing the newly added Nexon PEAK challenges, I came across something fun: living by a fortune cookie!

A fortune cookie has a little slip of paper with a fortune tucked inside and is said to symbolize good luck. To find out what kind of luck was following me around, I decided to let a fortune cookie guide my gaming life!

My fortune cookie had a rather heartfelt message for me: “When things get tough, pause for a moment and be gentle with yourself.” It was a lovely thought, and a comforting one, but how was I supposed to put it into practice in my gaming life...?

Thinking about hardship, comfort, and those tender feelings brought exactly one place to mind, so I launched MapleStory right away.

Characters in movies and anime always seem to have somewhere they go for comfort when things get tough, don’t they? For me, that place is “Spirit Tree's View” in Arcana. So much has happened here over the years.

There was the moment I successfully upgraded an Arcane Umbra weapon myself for the first time, and all those times my friends and I gathered to chat before they quit MapleStory...

Whenever I wanted to sit quietly and listen to some mystical game BGM, I would always be at “Spirit Tree's View” in Arcana. Sitting there again after so long, just listening to that gentle BGM, I could feel myself relaxing.

I have a few goals I want to achieve in 2026, but it struck me that I don’t need to rush toward them. I’ll keep doing my best without pushing myself too hard.

So I started looking around for a little gift to treat myself to, and that was when

I spotted the Daybreak Pendant I’d blown up last time while going for 22 stars. All right, here we go...

Ah...

Off to the hunting grounds to earn some mesos~

Next time, I’ll make it happen!

And that was my little adventure in letting a fortune cookie guide my gaming life. Real life usually keeps me so caught up in everything, but this gave me a chance to look back on old memories for the first time in a while and find a little room to breathe.
