Don’t start talking down to people the first time you meet them

I feel this in real life too, but there are far too many people who think that just because they’re older, they can talk down to someone the moment they meet them

and act as if the other person is somehow beneath them.

Whenever I see people like that, I don’t make a show of it, but it honestly leaves a filthy feeling in my mouth, and every so often you run into that same type in games too.

So when you’re meeting someone for the first time, I really wish people would use polite speech with each other instead of talking down and would at least keep some basic manners.

Don’t abuse the Lie Detector in hunting maps

This happened to me during the Golden Octopus hunting event,

when someone used a Lie Detector on me even though it was obvious to anyone with eyes that I wasn’t a macro user.

Since I got 5,000 mesos, I realized that person had used the Lie Detector on me,

so I asked in chat why they did it, and the way they tried to deny it was just disgusting.

This was something that would have been over with one apology, so why do people insist on acting that pathetically?

I seriously cannot understand what goes on in the heads of this kind of trash.

I looked it up on Google and apparently there are a huge number of users like this with no manners at all,

so I really wish people would stop abusing the Lie Detector that was made to catch macro users.

In boss parties, keep your time commitments no matter what

I’m a solo player, so I’ve never actually done bosses in a party,

but if you look at all the different incidents and drama that have happened in MapleStory, an awful lot of them really do come out of parties.

When it comes to boss parties especially, I’ve seen plenty of users get publicly called out on Maple Inven for not keeping the agreed time.

Your time is valuable, but other people’s time is valuable too, so keep your time commitments.

When you do something wrong, instead of lying or making excuses, apologize quickly

If you look at all the various incidents and accidents that have happened in MapleStory,

there are so many cases where something that should have ended with a single apology gets dragged out and made even bigger because people start lying and making excuses for what they did wrong,

and if you were the one at fault, then I think you owe the victim a sincere apology

and compensation that actually matches the extent of the harm you caused.
