Mapleland captures MapleStory just as it was before the Big Bang.

It’s been quite a while since it launched on MapleStory Worlds, but plenty of players still enjoy it regularly.

I don’t log in all that often myself, but I stop by to play whenever I have some spare time.

Even back then, I preferred questing to hunting monsters or playing in a party.

These days, I’m still leveling up one quest at a time, revisiting those memories as I go.

Sticking to quests may not be the most efficient approach, but it has given me a few memorable moments that I’d like to share.

Meeting Some Kind Mapleland Players!

A month ago, I was busy hunting monsters to collect Poison Poopa’s Poisonous Spikes.

An experienced player came over and asked which quest I was working on.

When I told them I was collecting Poisonous Spikes, they handed some over right away and quietly went on their way.

The monsters in Aquarium were taking me quite a while to defeat, so their help made finishing the quest much easier.

I didn’t manage to take a screenshot at the time, but as you can see from the item count, they gave me quite a lot ㅎㅎ Thank you so much!

Quite a few other players have stopped to chat while I was questing and given me equipment or potions before heading off, too.

Unfortunately, I didn’t take many screenshots..!

Seeing Mapleland players look out for newcomers like that really warmed my heart.

I’d better keep leveling up so I can help others, too!

An Unexpected Find While Questing!

Before I’d even made my second job advancement,

I was working on a quest to defeat 300 Rocky Masks and 200 Wooden Masks.

I was hunting without giving it much thought when a scroll suddenly dropped.

It was a Scroll for Earring for INT 60%.

When I looked it up later, I learned that the drop rate from Rocky Masks was apparently 0.004%.

Getting an item like that when I wasn’t expecting anything made it all the more satisfying!

It also gave me some mesos to put toward equipment. It was worth a whole 1 million mesos!

A Party Quest That Brought Back Memories

Most of the content in MapleStory these days can be enjoyed solo.

But I remember how much there used to be for us to enjoy together in a party :)

The Kerning City Party Quest was one I played often as a child.

I happened to be within the level requirement, so I joined in before reaching level 30!

We played together for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.

It had been so long that I lost my way here and there and made a few mistakes,

but since everyone seemed to be there just to have fun, they reassured me that it was fine and kindly walked me through what to do, so I could relax and enjoy playing.

We only spent a short time together, but it was lovely to rediscover the fun of cooperating with others that I remembered from MMORPGs back then.

Of course, there are plenty of more efficient ways to level up quickly.

Still, I find that I prefer taking my time and focusing on quests.

I’ve made it to level 49 so far!

Soon, I’m planning to try a little of the Ludibrium Party Quest and enjoy some new quests as well 😆
