Hello, adventurers~!

Are you having fun and making the most of life in Erinn?

For beginner adventurers still getting familiar with Erinn's terminology,

I'd like to explain some of the words you'll come across here.

Even experienced adventurers may find a few things they didn't know or weren't quite sure about.

Let's take this chance to go over them together!

*This post touches on lore from the original Mabinogi,

so it may contain indirect spoilers for future stories or content in Mabinogi Mobile. Please keep that in mind~

Round 1

[ Erinn ]

Erinn is the name of the world in Mabinogi and Mabinogi Mobile.

No other lands have appeared in Mabinogi Mobile yet,

but the original Mabinogi has another continent called Iria in addition to the continent of Uladh,

along with islands and other lands.

Together, all these lands make up what we call “Erinn.”

In the original Mabinogi, some people were searching for a land of paradise,

so the revelation that Erinn itself was that paradise, known as “Tir Na Nog,”

came as quite a shock to many.

In Mabinogi Mobile, Erinn is introduced as a world protected by the goddess Morrighan.

Let's look forward to seeing how its lore and stories unfold!

[ Human ]

After wondering which word to link to the final syllable of “Erinn” in Korean, I settled on “human.”

It isn't a word unique to Mabinogi, but it does carry an important meaning.

Mabinogi Mobile hasn't gone into much detail about “races” yet.

The original Mabinogi, on the other hand, features various races whose stories are closely intertwined.

The original Mabinogi has three races: humans, elves, and giants.

Players can create characters of each race and set out on adventures in Erinn.

I suspect elves and giants will soon play a fuller part in Mabinogi Mobile's main story

and share the stories of their peoples with us.

I'm also hoping that we adventurers might get to choose elves or giants

when we go through rebirth someday~ㅎㅎ

[ Milletian? Adventurer? ]

That brings our first round of word chain to a close with Erinn and human.

Before we begin the next round, I've picked out two more words worth going over.

Those words are “Milletian” and “adventurer.”

Milletian is the term used for players in the original Mabinogi.

It means “one who comes from the stars,” so they're sometimes called “morning stars” as well.

Players can return to life after death and take on different forms through rebirth at any time,

and these abilities are woven neatly into what it means to be Milletians: immortal beings within the game.

For now, all you need to remember is that this term refers specifically to players in the original Mabinogi.

In Mabinogi Mobile, player characters are called “adventurers.”

This name left many players familiar with the original Mabinogi wondering.

“Are we something other than Milletians?” they asked.

At this point in Mabinogi Mobile's story, we still don't know exactly what kind of beings we are.

So far, there have only been a few scattered hints that we're not ordinary humans.

The residents of Erinn simply call us “adventurers,”

but who knows? Perhaps we'll be called Milletians later on, too!

Round 2

[ Cichol ]

He's one of the gods you'll naturally learn about as you adventure through Erinn.

He's depicted as an “evil god” who has attacked Erinn, the world protected by the goddess Morrighan.

He wears a pitch-black robe that hides even the outline of his face.

This design gives him a distinctly inhuman presence.

Isn't it interesting how sharply he contrasts with Morrighan, who loves humans?

His wings, though, are pure white,

and I find it intriguing how that clashes with the angelic image we usually associate with white wings.

Perhaps this is a way of suggesting that there is no absolute good or evil.

Cichol looks almost identical in the original Mabinogi and Mabinogi Mobile,

and he plays a very important role in the original game.

I think we'll learn more about this as Mabinogi Mobile's story progresses,

so I won't go into the details here.

[ Holy Spear ]

In the battle against Glas Ghaibhleann, the enormous monster Cichol had created through Maurus,

the adventurer uses a relic from the Holy See to bring down a “Holy Spear” and finish the monster off.

This ability is also a skill available to the Priest class, one of the classes adventurers can choose.

The Holy See has such tremendous power hidden away…! Just what kind of place is it?

In Mabinogi Mobile, the Holy See is a group that worships a god named Aton Cimeni,

while the church is presented as a place of worship for Morrighan.

During your adventures, you may have heard those imps saying things like “Whatever, Cimeni~”

Or perhaps you've seen an NPC say, “Anyway, I don't believe in Cimeni~”😅

They're referring to the god Aton Cimeni.

If you look into the original Mabinogi's lore,

you'll find Aton Cimeni described as the “absolute god” or “chief god.” You can think of him as the “Creator.”

This lore carries over into Mabinogi Mobile,

which seems to explain why followers of the Holy See declare that all gods other than Aton Cimeni are lesser gods!

Let's hope Mabinogi Mobile reveals more about the gods and their stories later on!

[ Abyss ]

This is one of the essential activities adventurers return to each week!

You can currently enter it through Barri Dungeon in the town of Bangor.

It offers Introductory, Hard, and Very Hard difficulties,

and clearing higher difficulties lets you build up better rewards.

Unlike daily clear rewards, these accumulated rewards are calculated and awarded the following week.

Since Hell difficulty offers the same rewards as Very Hard,

there's no need to push yourself to clear it unless you want to compete in the time-attack rankings.

We don't know much about the story behind this dungeon,

but apparently, a recently added book tells a story about 네베론.

According to this book, the boss of the Contaminated Disposal Site is actually…!

Try collecting the various books scattered throughout Erinn for a little glimpse into the story of the Abyss~
