What “2025 Recap” Means, Plus 10 Q&As | Nexon with Me Throughout the Year
마포감튀
Hello.
This is Mapo Gam튀.
Today, I’m going to go over what “recap” means and do a 2025 recap with Nexon.
What does recap mean?
A recap means organizing and looking back on the events or experiences that took place over the course of a year.
In other words, it’s a record of asking yourself, “What did I do this year?” and looking back on it.
So with that, let’s get into Mapo Gam튀’s 10-question, 10-answer 2025 game recap with Nexon.
2025 Recap
Q1. What game did you play the most in 2025?
A1. The two games I spent the most time on were DNF Mobile and MapleStory.
It’s a little disappointing that playtime doesn’t show up in Nexon Plug, but.. I played both of them for at least an hour a day.
Q2. What was the best value-for-money game of 2025?
A2. For me, ARC Raiders was the best value-for-money game!
The full package is close to 90,000 won, but even for someone like me who mainly plays RPGs, it worked well as a change of pace and gave me just the right amount of pressure and tension to keep things exciting.
Q3. What was the most memorable update of 2025?
A3. For me, the most memorable update was MapleStory’s 2025 summer update, Challengers Server Season 2.
Along with Ren’s release, it was also the update that let me get my first liberation weapon through the Gene Pass.
Thanks to that, I’m still steadily raising Ren as my sub-character even now.
Q4. What game did you quit in 2025 and then return to?
A4. I came back to Mabinogi Mobile.
I returned around the level cap expansion, so it was nice to be able to enjoy it again!
I even got to transform into a Paladin, and there was a lot of fun in seeing how much stronger my character had become with the level cap increase.
Q5. What game was unexpectedly fun in 2025?
A5. Maple Grow.
Honestly, I tried it without expecting much, but since it felt like a self-growing MapleStory,
it ended up being surprisingly fun.
Q6. What game did you play the most with friends in 2025?
A6. I played ARC Raiders the most.
With other games, I mostly played solo, but ARC Raiders was twice as fun with friends,
so whenever I could, I’d call a friend and make sure we played together.
Q7. What was something in 2025 that made you think, “This is really well made”?
A7. It’s the DNF Mobile Male Mage video. Seriously.. I’ve seen a lot of DNF animated videos over the years,
but this one felt the most like DNF. The dark atmosphere and sharp action direction were great too!!
If DNF animation came out in this kind of tone, that would be really nice ㅜㅜ
Q8. What was the most stressful gaming moment in 2025?
A8. It was technically in December 2024, but.. it was DNF Mobile’s Elite Dungeon Hard Mode, which I played a lot at the start of the year.
I thought I was already used to it from Normal mode, but the bosses’ attack patterns were hard to see, everything was so fast, and one mistake meant instant death. More than being challenging in a fun way, it just felt unpleasant overall.
Q9. What game-related word did you use the most in 2025?
A9. ‘Guide.’ Since I write blog posts, it was bound to be a word I used a lot.
I wrote a wide range of guides, and I plan to keep working hard on them going forward.
Q10. What game are you looking forward to the most in 2026?
A10. I’m looking forward to Project RX the most. Aside from DNF and MapleStory, I usually play what people often call “otaku games” on my phone, meaning mostly subculture-genre titles.
Recently, though, I haven’t had a game I’ve really been enjoying, so if this comes out, I think I’ll end up playing it.
Wrapping up 2025 and welcoming 2026
What games brought you joy throughout 2025?
I hope that joy stays with you in 2026 as well!
