A recap is a summary of the year's events and experiences—a chance to look back.

It's a way to answer the question, “What did I do this year?”

With that, let's get into 마포감튀's 2025 gaming recap with NEXON: 10 questions, 10 answers.

2025 Recap

Q1. Which game did you spend the most time playing in 2025?

A1. I spent the most time on DNF Mobile and MapleStory.
Unfortunately, NEXON Plug doesn't show my playtime... but I played each game for at least an hour every day.

Q2. Which game offered the best value for money in 2025?

A2. For me, ARC Raiders offered the best value for money!

The full package costs nearly 9 times ten thousand won, but even though I mainly play RPGs, I've been enjoying it as a change of pace. It offers just the right amount of pressure and tension to keep me on edge.

Q3. What was the most memorable update of 2025?

A3. Challengers World Season 2, part of MapleStory's 2025 summer update, stands out the most.

Alongside Ren's release, this update brought the Genesis Pass, which let me wield a liberated weapon for the first time in my MapleStory journey.

Thanks to that update, I'm still actively leveling and gearing up Ren as my alt.

Q4. Which game did you quit and then return to in 2025?

A4. I returned to Mabinogi Mobile.

I came back when the level cap increased, and it was great to enjoy the game again!

I got to transform into a Paladin, and seeing my character grow stronger with the higher level cap was satisfying.

Q5. Which game was surprisingly fun in 2025?

A5. MapleStory: Idle RPG.

I went in without expecting much, but it's MapleStory with automatic progression—

and I ended up having more fun than I expected.

Q6. Which game did you play the most with friends in 2025?

A6. I played ARC Raiders the most.

I mostly played other games solo, but ARC Raiders is twice as fun with friends,

so whenever possible, I'd invite them to play together.

Q7. What made you think, “This is really well made,” in 2025?

A7. The DNF Mobile Male Mage video. Honestly... I've watched so many DNF animations over the years,

but this one captured the feel of DNF better than any other. The dark atmosphere, the exhilarating action scenes—it had both!

I'd love to see a DNF animation with this tone ㅜㅜ

Q8. What was your most stressful gaming moment in 2025?

A8. DNF Mobile's Elite Dungeon Hard Mode. It was actually from December '24... but I played it a lot early in the year.

I thought I'd gotten used to the fights on Normal, but the bosses' attack patterns were hard to read and far too fast. One mistake meant instant death. Overall, it felt more frustrating than enjoyably challenging.

Q9. What gaming-related word did you use the most in 2025?

A9. “Guide.” As someone who writes blog posts, I was bound to use that word a lot.

I wrote all kinds of guides, and I plan to keep putting plenty of work into more.

Q10. Which game are you most looking forward to in 2026?

A10. I'm most looking forward to Project RX. Aside from DNF and MapleStory, I mostly played anime-style “subculture” games on my phone—the ones often called “weeb games.”

I haven't found a game I've really enjoyed lately, but I think I'll get into this one when it comes out.
