MapleStory celebrates its 23rd anniversary this year, and it's packed with all kinds of content and systems.

Today, I played a round of #끝말잇기 using only terms from MapleStory.

Of course, the first word is 'MapleStory'!

1. MapleStory

MapleStory is a 2D side-scrolling MMORPG that just about everyone in South Korea knows.

The Kinesis class recently received a remaster, along with a couple of leveling events:

'Hyper Burning,' which offers 1+4 level-ups up to Lv. 260,

and 'Burning Beyond,' which offers 1+1 level-ups up to Lv. 270.

With 'Challenger World' also open and offering plenty of benefits, it's a great time for new and returning players to jump in!

With so many classes available, choosing one can be tricky at first.

But whichever character you level up, they'll still be useful through the Legion system.

So there's no need to worry too much—feel free to jump in!

2. Lith Harbor

If you choose an Explorer class, Lith Harbor is the first town you reach after the tutorial.

Many of you probably remember it for its blue sea and soothing background music.

Back in the day, the NPCs here taught us the basics of the game, one step at a time.

Maybe it's because this is where the adventure begins, but it's still nice to come back!

3. Cloud Park

Leave Victoria Island by ship, and you'll arrive in Orbis.

Cloud Park is one of the first maps that comes to mind when you think of Orbis.

This garden in the sky is home to Pixies and is often remembered as a nostalgic hunting spot.

Even today, players still stop by for a bit around levels 60~70!

4. Wonderberry

Wonderberry refers to 'Wisp's Wondrous Wonderberry,' which is sold in the Cash Shop.

It's one of the main ways to get pets, which make hunting in MapleStory much more convenient.

You can also use a '루나 크리스탈 키' to try fusing the Wonder Black pets you get here into a vac pet.

Vac pets automatically draw in nearby items, making hunting a much smoother experience!

5. Leafre

Take a ship from Orbis, and you'll arrive in Minar Forest.

Leafre, a town in Minar Forest, is a natural stop once you reach the level 100 range.

Star Force hunting areas start appearing around this point, helping you level up faster!

6. Resistance

Based in Edelstein, the Resistance is one of MapleStory's major class groups.

It includes classes with plenty of personality, such as Mechanic, Blaster, Wild Hunter, and Battle Mage.

I remember having a lot of fun playing when the Resistance first arrived.

The reveal that seemingly ordinary NPCs were actually job instructors left quite an impression, too.

7. Star Force

Star Force is at the heart of MapleStory's equipment enhancement—a star-based upgrade system that's given players plenty of highs and lows!

Enhancing equipment adds yellow stars at the top of its details and boosts its stats.

In some hunting areas, you'll deal almost no damage to monsters if your Star Force is too low.

These days, though, players tend to start with Arcane Force hunting areas, so Star Force hunting areas have become much less important.

8. Lotus

Lotus is the final boss of MapleStory's 'Black Heaven' storyline.

Many players now defeat him regularly to earn income from weekly boss runs.

Thanks to the Item Burning system, taking on Normal Lotus is relatively manageable these days!

9. Verdant Flora

The Flora are one of the races central to the story of the Grandis continent.

They are divided into High Flora and Verdant Flora, with Illium belonging to the latter.

There's still only one Verdant Flora class, so I'd love to see another one added in the future.

10. Premium PC Cafe

Premium PC Cafe is an exclusive system available only at Nexon-affiliated PC cafes!

When you log in at a PC cafe, a dedicated UI appears on the left side of the screen. You can earn rewards based on how long you stay logged in.

On December 21, it even made waves by offering 5 hours of free PC cafe access and 400 Sol Erda Fragments!

And that wraps up my word-chain game using terms from MapleStory.

A MapleStory-only word-chain game could be fun to try with friends, too ㅎㅎ
