Today, I’m going to cover Mabinogi Mobile My Home and Deco Score. I used to completely ignore life content, but I started looking into it because, honestly, “there’s not much else to play these days.” Once I tried it, though, building up points turned out to be more fun than I expected.

So the new thing I ended up getting into is the recently added My Home content. I figured people are probably here for all sorts of reasons—creating a My Home, crafting items to earn Deca, or raising Deco Score—so I’ll walk through each part in detail.

How to Unlock My Home

My Home content in Mabinogi Mobile unlocks once you complete the “My Cozy House, My Home” quest. Tap the quest list and scroll all the way to the bottom—it should be there. Having to drag all the way down every single time is such a pain, honestly. I have no idea when they’re finally going to add a quest search function.

Once you finish the quest, you’ll be able to create your My Home, and the available regions are Dunbarton and Emain Macha. Open the map and zoom in, and you should see a house icon. Your first one costs 10,000 gold to create.

After that, you’ll receive 20 Deco Crafting Parts and a Sensibility Flower Pot Deco Box to help you start decorating your My Home. As your Deco Score increases, you can move into a larger My Home. So if you want to properly decorate a place of your own, you’ll definitely need to raise your Deco Score.

You can check your Deco Score at the bottom of your character info, so just take a look there whenever you’re curious.

How to Raise Your Deco Score

To raise your Deco Score in Mabinogi Mobile, you need to craft items at the Deco Workbench. After that, your Deco Score only goes up when you actually use the item you made. Simply crafting it won’t raise your score, which makes this content surprisingly tedious and more labor-intensive than it looks.

At this point, players who catch on quickly are probably thinking, “Wait, then shouldn’t I just level up the Deco Workbench first and fill my score fast?” Unfortunately, the materials needed to upgrade the workbench can only be obtained once you meet a certain Deco Score requirement. In other words, crafting is basically forced.

For reference, your Deco Score only increases the first time you obtain an item. For example, whether you craft a Practical Square Table once or 50 times, the score gain is still capped at 50 points. Because of that, if you’re trying to raise your score through crafting, it’s best to make each item just once.

​

You can check the Deco items you’ve obtained in the collection section. If constantly checking the collection feels annoying, you can do what I do—either leave your crafted items unused and open them all at once later, or leave only the most recently crafted item unused as a marker.

Once you reach Deco Workbench level 3 or higher, you can really start crafting the nicer-looking items or earning Deca in earnest. At minimum, if your goal is decorating your My Home or making Deca, you should assume you’ll need at least 3,000 Deco Score.

The Comfortable Storage Box you can make at level 2 is currently selling for over 300 Deca, so if you build up your Deco Score early, it can turn into some decent profit. But there’s one more thing that gets in the way.

​

There’s a limit to how many crafting parts you can get for making Deco items. You can get 25 per week from the shop, but that’s nowhere near enough if you want to raise Deco Score quickly. I even checked whether I could funnel more in through alts, but it turns out it’s shared across all characters.

​

The one somewhat fortunate part is that the My Home unlock quest is applied separately per character. So if, like me, you have 6 alts that have already cleared through the Emain Macha main quest, you can get 100 extra Deco Crafting Parts that way. Just claim them and move them through shared storage.

​

Also, after crafting Deco items, if you tap Collection Support Supplies, you can claim extra rewards based on your level, so don’t forget to pick those up too. If you make use of that along the way, getting to 3,000 points is actually pretty quick.

The Lazy Shortcut

Of course, if grinding Deco Score like this feels too annoying, there is a shortcut. If you use Deca or cash to buy high-grade Deco items from the marketplace or cash shop, you can fill up your score much faster.

​

That said, this really only applies to paying users, and personally I don’t think you need to go that far. Even if it’s a bit annoying, I’d still recommend gathering crafting parts daily and steadily making items instead. There’s also a nice bit of fun in raising your Life Skill score, so it’s worth doing.

So in short, it is possible as a free-to-play player. That said, if you’re as lazy as I am, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll either give up halfway or end up covering it with cash. Since I don’t really have another game to play these days anyway, I figured I might as well see how far I can take it, so I’ve been sticking with it pretty seriously.
