[Blue Archive] Why I Came Back as a Returning Player After 1 Year!

Hello!

I’m Nexon PEAKER Peacetime.

251228 Blue Archive returning player

Today, I want to talk about why I came back to Blue Archive

as a returning player after a year away.

The subculture game of my life…

So why did I quit?

Hibiki

I started Blue Archive on November 9, 2021,

the day it launched in Korea.

Back then, Hibiki, Iori, Shun, and Haruna

were considered the top 3 or top 4,

so I put a lot of effort into rerolling to get them.

Interaction

Personally, I think Blue Archive stands out less for its combat

and more for collecting students with strong character appeal

and experiencing the story.

From MomoTalk, where you interact with the characters,

to immersive stories across a wide range of themes,

it’s honestly rare to find another game that captures BA’s particular charm.

Urban warfare

But Blue Archive’s endgame content

was Total Assault, where you fight powerful bosses.

I got Platinum, the highest rank, from Season 1 onward,

and after that, I kept trying to earn Platinum in every Total Assault.

Pure-blood Plat (1)Pure-blood Plat (2)

There’s a tradition of calling players who earned Platinum in every Total Assault

pure-blood Plat.

It basically means they’ve put in that much effort and care that much about the game,

so even General Director Kim Yongha has respect for those players.

Power

But after doing that for several years, content like Total Assault and Grand Assault

gradually started to feel like stress instead.

Then I finally missed it once and lost my pure-blood Plat status,

and after that, I ended up putting the game down.

Why did I come back as a returning player?

Fes Recruitment

The first reason, honestly, was the Fes Recruitment event

I’d been waiting on for a long time.

In Fes Recruitment, the 3-star rate goes up significantly,

and it usually features a powerful anniversary pickup character.

That’s why I logged in around the middle of this year to pull Rio,

and this time I picked up Swimsuit Mika, Nagisa, and Seia as well.

Second, I changed how I approach endgame content.

I’m not pure-blood Plat anymore anyway,

so I told myself, “I’ll just go for Gold.”

Honestly, the rewards for Platinum and Gold

aren’t all that different aside from the prestige.

Since the cutoff is lenient and it’s easy enough to reach,

people even call it the easy Gold group.

Mindset

Once I changed my mindset, it really felt like I’d reached

an ideal subculture-game setup where, as long as I log in consistently,

I can pull and raise the characters I want at my own pace.

When a new story drops, I enjoy it,

and otherwise I just do my check-ins, spend my AP,

and play pretty casually.

Guide Mission

So that’s why I wanted to share

why I came back to Blue Archive after a year away.

There’s always some event running each month,

so if you keep playing steadily, Blue Archive is the kind of game

where you really can pull the characters you want.

If BA’s worldbuilding and character appeal click with you,

the sooner you start, the better.
