Blue Archive is a subculture mobile game by NEXON Games,

and even now, it still has a very solid fanbase.

It’s already celebrating its 4th anniversary. Time really does fly.

I played it for about a month back when it first launched, and recently I decided to return after a long break!

I’ve been playing again, and it’s still so fun that I wanted to give it a little introduction here :D

Why I Came Back

Looking back on the games I’ve stuck with for a long time, I realized they all had something in common.

They mostly fell into two categories.

One was games I had friends or acquaintances to enjoy together with,

and the other was games where the characters themselves were especially charming.

That said, these days I find games with a lot of manual control or long play sessions a bit more 부담스럽게 느껴지더라고요.

So while thinking about what kind of game would be nice to pick up these days, Blue Archive came to mind!

The characters are charming, and it’s also known as a game you can enjoy fairly lightly.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t recover the account I used in the past, so I ended up starting over on a new one.

It was a little sad, since that account had Iori, Hibiki, and Shun, who I really liked back then..!

The Perfect Time to Return

In the past, when you were progressing through stages, you had to deploy your squad and manually play all the way through to the boss to clear them.

Now, though, the 'Simple Strategy' system has been added, so you can clear a stage after joining the battle just once.

There are so many chapters that I wondered how I’d ever get through them all, but thanks to this, pushing through the areas has become much easier! Zero pressure! ✌

There are also plenty of benefits and events running for new players.

I noticed there’s a nice variety too, like stage clear rewards and 7-day missions.

They also give you plenty of energy. It hasn’t even been a full week since I started, and I’ve already reached level 40!

You can also earn Pyroxenes, the summoning currency, from all sorts of sources, so I was able to pick up quite a few 3-star characters too! ㅎㅎㅎ

Let me brag just a tiny bit—I pulled Swimsuit Nagisa from this Festival pickup!

On top of that, you can go back and enjoy event stories that were released in the past,

and you can even obtain event character copies as well.

It’s the kind of game that still feels fair and enjoyable even if you start late.

As you can see, there’s really a lot to do!

Even so, it didn’t feel exhausting. Blue Archive has a sweep function, after all.

Overall, it really felt like a great game to come back to!
