Blue Archive is an anime-style mobile game from NEXON Games,

and it still has a dedicated fan base today.

It's already celebrating its 4th anniversary. Time really does fly!

I played for about a month at launch, and recently returned after a long break!

I've been enjoying it just as much this time around, so I wanted to share a little about it with you :D

Why I Came Back

Looking back at the games I stuck with over the years, I noticed a common thread.

They generally fell into two categories.

There were games I could enjoy with friends,

and games with characters that really appealed to me.

These days, though, games that need a lot of hands-on control or long play sessions feel a little too demanding.

With that in mind, I started looking for something to play, and Blue Archive came to mind!

It has appealing characters, and it's known for being relatively easy to enjoy casually.

Unfortunately, I couldn't recover my old account, so I started fresh with a new one.

It was a shame to leave that account behind, especially since it had Iori, Hibiki, and Shun—all strong picks back then!

The Perfect Time to Return

Previously, you had to deploy your units, move them through the stage manually, and defeat the boss to clear it.

Now, the "Simple Strategy" system lets you clear a stage by taking part in just 1 battle.

With so many chapters, I wondered how I'd ever get through them all, but progressing through areas is much easier now! No pressure at all! ✌

There are also plenty of perks and events for new players.

I found all sorts of rewards and activities, from stage-clear rewards to 7-day missions.

The game is generous with energy, too. I've already reached level 40, and it hasn't even been a week since I started!

There are plenty of ways to earn Pyroxene, the currency used for recruitment, so I've managed to recruit several 3-star characters!ㅎㅎㅎ

I hope you'll forgive a little bragging: I got Nagisa (Swimsuit) from the Fest pick-up recruitment this time!

You can also play through stories from past events,

and even get your first copy of the event characters.

It's a welcoming approach that lets you enjoy the game on equal footing, even if you're starting late.

As you can see, there's plenty to enjoy!

Even with all that content, keeping up hasn't felt tiring, thanks to the sweep feature in Blue Archive.

All in all, it's felt like a great game to come back to!
