ARC Raiders is a PvPvE cooperative survival third-person shooter.

You may sometimes have to fight other players, known as Raiders, but the AI enemies, ARC machines, are no pushovers either.
Raiders can talk things out and cooperate, but there's no negotiating with ARC machines. The moment they spot you, they attack.
Some materials are also only available by destroying ARC machines, so knowing what to expect from each type makes farming much easier!

Here's a guide to the main ARC types and how to deal with them!

Wasp

These small flying drones travel in swarms or patrol set routes alongside Hornets.
They're relatively easy to deal with, but once they enter combat, they move faster and become harder to hit.
Make good use of cover and a rapid-fire weapon. Destroy just two wings and they'll explode, so you can take them out quickly.

Hornet

These flying drones are a little trickier to deal with than Wasps.
Their electric shock weapons can stun you if you're hit.

They're armored at the front, so head-on shots aren't very effective.
Aim directly at the two rear wings for a much easier takedown! I used the Ferro and had little trouble with them.

Snitch

This ARC machine looks like a round UFO and acts as a scout.
Avoid picking a fight with it if you can.
Don't underestimate it—if it spots you, it'll call in nearby Wasps and Hornets, and things can quickly get out of hand.

Sneaking past is your best option, but if you have to fight,
target the white blade sections first to take it out before it can call in its friends.

Fireball

This spherical ARC machine is often found indoors.
It moves in close and sprays flames that deal more damage than you might expect.
Fortunately, it isn't very durable, so back away, then take it out with 1–2 shots.
It makes a sound just before attacking, so listen carefully when heading indoors.

Tick

These small, spider-like ARC machines roam dark interiors in groups of around 3.
They crawl along walls and ceilings before latching onto your face, rapidly draining your health and shield.
Pull them off immediately, then finish them off with around 1–2 shots.

*TIP

They often appear alongside Fireballs. If you're hit by flames while a Tick is attached, you can be in serious danger in an instant.
Both have low health, so use a rapid-fire weapon to clear them out quickly.

Turret

You'll find these inside buildings throughout the Rust Belt.
They're mounted on walls near stairs and open fire as soon as you enter their line of sight.
Since they can't move, they're fairly straightforward to handle if you make good use of cover.
Alternatively, a single grenade is an easy way to destroy one.

Rocketeer

This large, heavily armored flying ARC machine fires homing missiles.
Its long range and powerful attacks make it best avoided early on.
Take one on early in the game and you'll go down in an instant. It's too much to handle alone, so queue up for a squad and work with other players to target its wings.

Leaper

This is a massive four-legged ARC machine.
It often appears in open areas. When it spots you, it leaps high into the air before slamming down, so be ready to slide out of the way quickly.

I took one on without knowing its attack patterns and nearly had a heart attack..!

It also unleashes a wide-area shockwave attack at close range, making it extremely dangerous.
It's best to tackle one with a group or when you're well equipped.
If you're alone, taking shelter inside a building is your safest option.

It turns out you can also take one down by getting it stuck in a narrow building. Its legs are its weak points.

ARC Raiders has plenty of other ARC types, too.
Each has its own attack patterns, so learning them in advance can give you a real advantage in combat!
