Anime to Watch While Gaming: A Sunday with Mabinogi Mobile

This post was created as part of Nexon PEAK activities.

For anime to enjoy alongside gaming, I recommend Inuyasha, Witch Hat Atelier, JUJUTSU KAISEN, and a few nostalgic dubbed series. The connections to Nexon game collaborations add to the enjoyment, while familiar dubs make it easier to turn your attention back to the game without constantly reading subtitles.

On weekends, especially Sundays, I often spend time in Mabinogi Mobile visiting hunting grounds, running dungeons and deep dungeons, or catching up on gathering and part-time jobs. When Assist Mode gives me some breathing room, I put on an anime. Over time, Sunday has become my regular anime-watching day.

A familiar dub is a good choice when you need to check the game screen often. When the game needs less attention or you're taking a short break, you can choose a series whose story you want to focus on. With those situations in mind, I've put together some anime recommendations to accompany your gaming sessions.

Contents

1. Inuyasha

2. Witch Hat Atelier

3. JUJUTSU KAISEN

4. Atashin'chi, Crayon Shin-chan, BONOBONO

1. Inuyasha

Inuyasha is a good choice for players who enjoy fantasy adventures as much as the relationships between characters.

Its collaboration with DNF Mobile, which I'm currently playing, also gives me a natural connection to gaming to talk about. DNF Mobile is running its Inuyasha collaboration from October 22, 2026, until December 3 at 6 a.m.

The avatars and creatures look so good that I'm even leveling characters I hadn't planned to build.

This fantasy adventure begins when Kagome, a girl from the modern day, travels to the Sengoku period and meets Inuyasha. Getting to know the original stories and relationships of the characters you encounter in the game could give you a new appreciation for the collaboration.

A Korean dub is also available, so you can watch without subtitles. With its battles and ongoing storyline, though, I'd recommend giving it your attention during a break rather than looking away from the screen on your first viewing. If you've already seen it, revisiting your favorite episodes dubbed is another option.

2. Witch Hat Atelier

Witch Hat Atelier is a fantasy series about Coco, a girl who dreams of becoming a witch and grows as she learns magic. I'm drawn to its themes of magic and learning, which go well with the feeling of exploring a game world.

This collaboration is with Mabinogi on PC, not Mabinogi Mobile. It runs from October 15, 2026, until maintenance on November 12, and features story quests that let you meet characters including Coco and Qifrey.

According to its Netflix listing, each episode runs for about 23–24 minutes. That makes it easy to fit an episode into a break after finishing an activity in the game.

The Netflix page I checked lists Japanese audio and Korean subtitles, though, so you can't approach it quite like a dub that lets you listen to the dialogue while playing. The sight of magic unfolding is part of the appeal alongside the story. I'd recommend watching when you're taking a short break from the game or it needs less attention, so you can keep your eyes on the anime.

3. JUJUTSU KAISEN

JUJUTSU KAISEN has an upcoming collaboration with Mabinogi Mobile. An official teaser has been released, and reports have announced a November 5, 2026, start date.

An action series about curses and the battles fought by jujutsu sorcerers, it suits players looking for an exciting story rather than a relaxing slice-of-life show. Understanding how its battles and abilities work is an important part of the appeal, so I'd recommend giving each episode your attention rather than watching it in the background while gaming.

Watching the series before the collaboration is also an enjoyable way to get to know its characters. Once you're familiar with their personalities and relationships, you'll be even happier to see them in the game.

One option is to watch JUJUTSU KAISEN an episode at a time after finishing your tasks in Mabinogi Mobile, then look for connections to the anime as you enjoy the collaboration later.

4. Atashin'chi, Crayon Shin-chan, BONOBONO

Source: TVING

Atashin'chi, Crayon Shin-chan, and BONOBONO are easygoing series to leave on while gaming. Crayon Shin-chan collaborated with KartRider Rush+ in 2020, and BONOBONO with TalesWeaver in 2022, giving Nexon players another reason to feel fond of them.

When I was young, I had to wait for these shows to air on Tooniverse. These days, I can watch their Korean dubs anytime on services such as LAFTEL and TVING. The Korean voices are more familiar to me than the Japanese ones, and the short, everyday stories are easy to follow even when I glance back at the game screen. Hearing familiar dialogue while playing can make me feel as though I'm back in childhood.

Episodes I once found simply funny can feel surprisingly touching now. The affection behind a family's silly behavior, or the small conversations between friends, means something different to me than it did before. I enjoy spending part of Sunday playing Mabinogi Mobile, laughing at those familiar voices and occasionally turning my attention to the anime.

Closing Thoughts

I'd like to see Atashin'chi in a game someday, too.

That wraps up my anime recommendations for gaming sessions and the connections to Nexon game collaborations. I watch while playing Mabinogi Mobile, but I think these shows would also make good company while farming with a Wealth Acquisition Potion in MapleStory or doing daily quests in Blue Archive.

Rather than spending Sunday only catching up on game content, I want it to be a day off that includes anime I enjoy. Sometimes that means laughing at familiar voices; sometimes it means being briefly moved by a scene I didn't fully appreciate as a child. For me, those moments are part of the pleasure of enjoying games and anime together.
