2 Fun Comedy Anime for Some Lighthearted Viewing
마빡도로시

This post was created as part of Nexon's PEAK activities.
Hello!
In this post, I'm recommending anime that are good to watch while playing Nexon games.
I enjoy comedy manga and often look for titles that catch my interest. I've picked 2 that are worth a look if you haven't seen them yet.
The original manga are also enjoyable, so if you like these anime, I recommend checking out the manga afterward.

[Official Synopsis]
Jesus is a big spender with a passion for comedy, jokes, and new things. Buddha is strict with himself and his money, and enjoys screen-printing T-shirts.
Having safely made it through the end of the millennium, the two are vacationing in an apartment in Tachikawa, Tokyo, enjoying Japan's four seasons.
As Jesus and Buddha go about their everyday lives, they find themselves using their divine powers to perform saintly☆miracles wherever they go!
Saving the world through laughter!
A slice-of-life comedy about Jesus and Buddha living together!

[Saint Young Men] has an unconventional premise: it stars Jesus from Christianity and Buddha from Buddhism, with stories drawn entirely from religious subject matter.

You can still enjoy it even if, like me, you have no religious knowledge at all. All you really need to know is that Jesus and Buddha are hugely significant figures in human history.

The premise is a peaceful one: the two have come down to Earth for a break, so there are no major incidents. Much of the fun comes from how casually Jesus and Buddha reveal their extraordinary abilities in otherwise ordinary situations.

This is a perfect example of why I suggested checking out the original manga if you enjoy the anime. The anime adaptation is a theatrical film running only about 1 hour and 30 minutes, while the manga already spans 22 volumes and is still ongoing.

Some long-running series drift away from their original tone or become less entertaining, but this manga has maintained its quality throughout, leaving plenty to enjoy. The steady release of official Korean editions also suggests that it is selling well.
One difference is that the anime focuses mainly on Jesus, Buddha, and the human residents. The manga covers those stories too, but features far more religious figures, including demons, angels, Buddha's disciples, and the families of holy figures. The overall tone, however, is much the same. If you're looking for a relaxing manga with virtually no conflict, this is an ideal choice.

[Official Synopsis]
Yukio Tonegawa is said to be the man closest to becoming the Teiai Group's No. 2. Chairman Kazutaka Hyodo orders him to devise a “diabolical game” using people who owe the Teiai Group money.
Caught between his psychopathic boss's unreasonable demands and low-ranking subordinates waiting for his orders, can Tonegawa successfully create this “diabolical game”...?
The comedy manga that ranked 1st in the men's category of “Kono Manga ga Sugoi!” now comes to life as an anime...!

[Mr. Tonegawa: Middle Management Blues] is a spin-off of Kaiji. Though it isn't drawn by the original creator, the manga has earned plenty of praise. Unlike the dark original, this spin-off is a comedy.

The series takes Tonegawa, portrayed as cold-blooded in the original, and casts him as a middle manager caught between an unhinged chairman and troublesome subordinates. It's a very entertaining portrayal, with added tension from the fact that a single word from the chairman can cost someone not just their position, but their life.

As with many spin-offs, some moments are more enjoyable if you know the original. Still, the series provides brief explanations where needed, and just 1 episode gives you a clear sense of what it's about, so you can comfortably go in without that background. Both the anime and the manga have tidy endings, with the manga wrapping up in 10 volumes, making either a satisfying, enjoyable choice.

[일일외출록 반장], which appears at intervals throughout the anime, is another spin-off manga based on a character from the original, but by a different author. It's an impressively successful series: serialization began in 2017, and it has reached 20 volumes with over 5 million copies in circulation. Many readers are eagerly hoping for an official Korean release.
Thank you for reading.
