파레이돌리아 Confirmed for AGF 2026: Why We’re Looking Forward to This Game

This post was created as part of the Nexon PEAK program.

Hello!

I am 피스타임, a Nexon PEAK creator.

Of all the upcoming games, the one I am most looking forward to is 파레이돌리아. I have been curious to see what the developers who worked on Blue Archive would create next. With a new world to explore and characters and environments brought to life in Unreal Engine 5, what has been revealed so far promises a different kind of enjoyment from Blue Archive.

The game has now been confirmed for AGF 2026, where it will offer a Korean-language demo. I am also planning to attend this year's AGF, so I intend to visit the 파레이돌리아 booth and try it firsthand.

Today, I will look at what has been revealed so far and share why I am looking forward to the release of 파레이돌리아.

1. Why a Longtime Blue Archive Player Is Looking Forward to This New Title

I have been playing Blue Archive since its Korean servers launched, and it has already reached its 5th anniversary. As someone who has been there from the beginning, I am pleased to see that it remains so well loved.

The game is particularly popular in Japan, the home of anime and otaku culture. During its Japanese 5th-anniversary update in 2026, Blue Archive reached No. 1 on Japan's Apple App Store revenue chart. Its 5th-anniversary livestream also attracted approximately 90,000 viewers at its peak. It is impressive to see that level of enthusiasm 5 years after release.

In Korea, the Blue Archive 5th Anniversary Festival is scheduled for November 7 and 8. To me, these regular in-person events are a sign of the continued support the game enjoys among Korean players.

With Nexon having established its presence in anime-style games through Blue Archive, a new title involving members of its development team was bound to catch my attention.

The team behind 파레이돌리아 includes producer 차민서, who oversaw Blue Archive's Korean service, and art director YutokaMizu(유나물), who contributed to its character designs and illustrations.

It is a pleasure simply to see developers from a game I have enjoyed for so long introduce new characters and stories. I am curious to discover how the qualities I loved in Blue Archive will find expression in this new title.

2. Meeting the 메이츠 in a New World

Since this is a new IP, I am also looking forward to discovering its distinctive world and atmosphere. 파레이돌리아 is set in 아니마시, an otherworldly city that resembles reality but feels strangely unfamiliar. Players take on the role of the city's revitalization center director, living at 타소가레관 alongside the 메이츠, who possess special abilities, and resolving problems that arise across the city.

I am particularly interested in the daily life you share with the 메이츠. In anime-style games, a character's everyday words and actions can be just as important to their appeal as their performance in battle. Their appearance or abilities might first catch your attention, but following their story can turn them into a favorite.

I like that 파레이돌리아 lets you observe and interact with the 메이츠 in your shared living space. Returning from combat and seeing what each character is doing sounds like an enjoyable part of the experience.

The game features 3D graphics built with Unreal Engine 5 and is in development for PC, console, and mobile platforms. Being able to see the characters' expressions and movements up close makes me eager to discover how well their illustrated charm translates into the game itself.

3. Daily Life and Combat in the Videos Released So Far

파레이돌리아 was first introduced to international audiences at this year's Anime Expo and Tokyo Game Show. A playable demo was available at Tokyo Game Show, and in-game videos have also been released showcasing both everyday life and the extraordinary events that interrupt it.

If you are curious about the game, I recommend watching both the Everyday Life and Extraordinary Life editions of the “아니마시 Revitalization Activities Special Video.” Together, they showcase its contrasting moods, from living alongside the characters to exploring and fighting.

The Everyday Life edition shows the 메이츠 spending time at 타소가레관. The combination of character expressions, gestures, and glimpses of their living spaces gives a clearer sense of the game's atmosphere.

The Extraordinary Life edition shows characters navigating environments and battling enemies. Life is not always peaceful: when anomalies occur, you head out with the 메이츠 to resolve them. I am curious to see how the characters you live alongside distinguish themselves in combat.

Combat uses a live turn battle system. According to the published demo overview, players choose actions in a turn-based format, but enemies continue moving during that time. This means considering both attack range and action order.

From that description, the system sounds like familiar turn-based combat with the added engagement of assessing the situation in real time. I would like to try it myself to see how much time there is to weigh decisions and how easy the controls are to use.

Based on what has been revealed so far, I think this is an upcoming title worth watching for anyone who enjoys character stories and everyday interactions, or the satisfaction of planning their next move in turn-based combat.

4. Experiencing 파레이돌리아 Firsthand at AGF 2026

AGF 2026 will host the first Korean-language demo of 파레이돌리아. Attendees will be able to experience daily life in 아니마시 and try the live turn battles firsthand.

The booth will recreate the game's 타소가레관. Planned interactive experiences will also use voice recognition, allowing visitors to speak to the 메이츠 or play rock-paper-scissors through voice commands.

These experiences seem particularly fitting for a game that emphasizes connecting with its characters. I am curious to see how the characters on screen respond to my voice.

The involvement of Blue Archive developers first caught my attention, but the more I learn, the more interested I become in 파레이돌리아 on its own merits. I look forward to discovering what it is like to live and adventure alongside the 메이츠 in a new world.

When I arrive at AGF, I plan to make the 파레이돌리아 booth my first stop. Meeting the 메이츠 I have seen in the videos and trying the combat should give me a much clearer sense of the game. I will share my firsthand impressions and the aspects I enjoyed afterward.
