Hi! I'm 온야.

Today, I'd like to recommend an anime that's great to watch while playing MapleStory.

It's ‘HUNTER×HUNTER’, a well-known anime classic ^__^ d I've already watched the whole series about 3 times. It's based on a manga!

I'd recommend it for two reasons.

1. Each episode is about 20 minutes long, so it's easy to watch a little at a time while grinding.

2. Gon and Killua's adventures go hand in hand with the feeling of exploring Maple World.

01. When Grinding Gets Repetitive, Put on Some Anime!

In MapleStory, grinding is a big part of developing your character and collecting mesos and items.

At first, simply using skills and defeating monsters is fun. But after a while, repeating the same sorts of actions on the same map can start to feel a little dull.

That's when I set my iPad beside me and put on some anime.

I grind with 레테 in a familiar hunting ground while watching HUNTER×HUNTER on the screen beside me. My hands keep up the grind while the story moves forward, which helps make all that repetition less boring. ㅎㅎ

02. Pairing a 20-Minute Episode with a 30-Minute EXP Coupon

HUNTER×HUNTER is a long series, so at first I wondered when I'd ever finish it. That length turned out to be a plus, though: it gave me plenty to watch a little at a time during regular grinding sessions.

Each episode is about 20 minutes long, so it's easy to fit one in after activating a 30-minute EXP coupon.

Of course, an episode doesn't last exactly as long as a coupon, but the remaining time gives you a chance to wrap up your grinding once the episode ends.

I find it much easier to watch once my grinding route and skill use have become second nature. If you're at a new hunting ground, it's best to focus on the game screen and get your bearings first.

03. Gon and Killua Are off on an Adventure—and So Am I in Maple World!

Another reason I think HUNTER×HUNTER pairs so well with MapleStory is that it follows Gon and Killua as they meet all kinds of people, explore new places, and grow along the way.

Watching them reach new regions, face powerful opponents, and grow little by little makes me feel like I'm adventuring alongside them as I develop my character in MapleStory.

Of course, Gon and Killua are heading somewhere new, while I'm still fighting monsters in the same spot… ㅋㅋ;

The adventure unfolds on one screen while my character steadily gathers EXP and mesos on the other.

That said, HUNTER×HUNTER has scenes with important explanations about battles and abilities, and I sometimes find my attention shifting more toward the anime. For those moments, I recommend taking a short break from grinding so you can give the show your full attention!

04. Who I'd Recommend It To

If you're finding MapleStory's repetitive grinding a little dull, or want to enjoy a long-running story of adventure and growth a little at a time, try watching HUNTER×HUNTER while you play.

Set an iPad beside you and put on an episode like I do, and you'll have another story to look forward to during your grinding sessions.

For now, I'm off to grind in the same spot again while I follow Gon and Killua's adventures… ㅎㅎ
