Looking Forward to Azur Promilia! Why I’m Excited About This Upcoming Game’s Characters and Kibo

Nexon PEAK activities.

Hi! 온야 here~
There’s an upcoming game I’m really looking forward to: “Azur Promilia”.
The biggest draws for me are the beautifully illustrated characters from a variety of fantasy races, and the RPG gameplay, where you collect creatures called “Kibo” and grow alongside them. As someone who loves anime-style characters, this new game has definitely caught my eye!
‘
01. What Kind of Game Is Azur Promilia?

Azur Promilia is a fantasy world RPG developed by Manjuu, the studio behind “Azur Lane,” and published in Korea by Nexon.
You’ll explore the fantasy continent of “Promilia,” meet a variety of characters, and enjoy adventures, battles, building, and more alongside mysterious creatures called “Kibo.”
The Korean release is scheduled for November 26, 2026, on PC and mobile. It will also feature full Korean voice acting, so I’m looking forward to hearing the characters’ voices as I follow their stories.
The character and Kibo introductions below are based on publicly available pre-launch materials and tests. Some details may change in the full release.
02. From Beastfolk to Dragonfolk! Meet the Different Fantasy Races
What first caught my eye was the character artwork.

The anime-inspired art style is right up my alley, and I like how features such as ears, tails, and horns give each race a distinct look. It should be fun to browse the characters one by one and find my favorite designs.
Here’s a breakdown of the characters revealed so far, grouped by race.
|
Race |

Example Characters |
|---|---|---|
|
Wisdom Race |
Standard humanoid appearance |
한요요, 릴리, 난향자 |

Each race has its own distinct look, giving the characters a wide range of styles within the same fantasy world.
As someone who draws, I also pay close attention to characters’ color palettes, outfits, and silhouettes. The artwork in Azur Promilia is so well done that even just browsing the character introductions is a treat.
That makes me excited to see how the characters move in-game and what their combat animations look like. Playing as a character whose artwork won me over could give me a whole new reason to love them.
03. Meet Kibo and Make Them Your Companions with “Starlink”
Beyond the characters, I’m also keeping an eye on “Kibo”.
Kibo are fantasy creatures found throughout Promilia. They’re part of the world’s ecosystem, and they can also become your adventuring companions.
I’m picturing something a bit like Pokémon..? ㅋㅋ

The system for recruiting Kibo as companions is called “Starlink”. You use “Starlink Cards” to form contracts with Kibo, and the success rate is said to vary depending on the card’s grade.
I’m looking forward to the collecting side of this. If I spot a Kibo I like while exploring, I don’t think I’ll be able to just walk past it. ㅎㅎ
With both characters and Kibo to choose from, figuring out which combinations to take on an adventure should be part of the fun, too.
04. Kibo Grow and Help with Combat and Everyday Activities

You can raise your Kibo after collecting them, too.
As they grow from juveniles into adults, their appearance, habits, talents, and skills are all said to change. I imagine I’ll get even more attached to a Kibo after watching it grow up from a little one.
Several ways to put Kibo’s abilities to use have also been revealed.
- Combat: Depending on their type, they help in battle by attacking, defending, healing, and more.
- Everyday Activities: You can assign them tasks such as gathering, mining, and farming.
- Exploration: Features shown so far include riding certain Kibo and solving puzzles with their help.
I especially like that there’s more to do with Kibo than just battle. When you feel like taking a break from adventuring to enjoy some everyday activities, the companions you’ve raised can be there to lend a hand.
“Alternate-color Kibo,” with colors that differ from their regular counterparts, have also been revealed. I already want to seek out different colors of my favorite Kibo, so fellow collectors might find this appealing, too. (I love this so~ much)
05. Who Should Keep an Eye on This Game?
Azur Promilia is an upcoming game I’d recommend checking out if you’re someone who, like me, cares about character art and design, or a fan of anime-style RPGs featuring fantasy races.
If you also enjoy collecting and raising creatures, or want everyday activities to enjoy alongside combat, the Kibo system is worth a look.
I haven’t played it myself yet, but the beautiful character artwork caught my eye, and the prospect of adventuring with Kibo has me looking forward to launch.
When it launches, I want to start by finding a character I like and meeting some Kibo to travel with!
If you’re interested, check out the pre-registration and milestone event on the official page, too. ^__^
