Saving money in games follows the same basic principles as saving in real life: maintain a steady income and cut unnecessary spending. Knowing your regular sources of income makes it easier to decide what to do when you log in, while setting spending priorities helps you keep enough gold for the progression you need.
This guide covers basic ways to earn gold and manage spending for new players who are short on funds. It also looks at how much to rely on alts and what to watch out for when earning Deka on the marketplace.

1. Start Earning Gold with Basic Content

Your first priority should be daily dungeons.
Shining Cave, available on Mondays and Thursdays, rewards you with gold. Starting at level 32, you can enter by accepting the daily part-time job and complete it once a day.
The resources available vary by day, so keep the schedule below in mind. Radiant Ruins, which rewards catalysts, unlocks at level 45.

On Sundays, you can choose one dungeon to run. Saving gold does not mean you need to pick Shining Cave every time, though. If you are short on gems or catalysts, collecting those materials may do more to help you progress at that point.
Collect gold on Mondays and Thursdays, then check which progression materials you are short on before choosing a dungeon on Sunday. If a lack of gold is preventing you from making necessary upgrades, choose the gold dungeon.

Even during a short session, check the available part-time jobs.
Basic part-time jobs reward you with gold, holy water, and other items for gathering, processing, and running errands. Once your Part-Time Job life skill reaches level 20, you can also take on city part-time jobs, which offer better rewards than village part-time jobs.

If Lucky Chance appears on the list, check its rewards. These jobs are rare but offer better rewards, so they are worth taking when you find them. Since they do not appear every time, however, you should not count them as a steady source of income.

Special part-time jobs are separate activities that require a Life Membership subscription. Keep them distinct from the basic part-time jobs you can do for free.
2. Cut Spending That Drains Your Gold

If you keep running short of gold despite earning it, take a closer look at your spending. Extra loot from daily dungeons is a good place to start. You can spend gold on extra loot up to 3 times a day, but buying the full daily allowance is not always worthwhile.
A purchase may be worth considering if you are trying to obtain materials you need now. If you have no immediate use for the rewards, however, repeatedly buying loot in the hope of getting something good makes saving difficult. Keep track of what you spend on extra purchases as well as how much gold you earn.

The same caution applies to the Soul Stream: do not spend gold simply because you have purchases remaining. You can buy up to 30 of each Soul per week with gold, and the price rises as you make more purchases. Crucially, these cumulative price increases do not reset.
Before buying the full weekly allowance, check the current price and your remaining gold. If these purchases leave you unable to afford necessary progression on your main, reduce the amount you buy.
Saving does not mean putting all progression on hold. It means investing in what you need now and postponing purchases that can wait. For example, if you cannot afford to upgrade gear you will use right away, try cutting back on extra loot purchases first.
3. Use Alts When You Have Time to Spare

You may be wondering whether to level alts to earn more resources. If you are new, learn the basic content on your main first, then add alts one at a time as your schedule allows, rather than leveling several characters from the outset.
More alts give you more activities to complete, but they also demand more time. Spending too much on gear upgrades for an alt created to earn resources can leave you with an added expense instead.

Life-skill activities are a good use for alts. Characters on the same server share life skills, processing facilities, and crafting station progression. You can therefore use alts to gather life-skill materials or help upgrade facilities.
Not every resource or item earned on an alt can be transferred to your main, however. For any materials you want to pass on, first check the item details to see whether they can go into shared storage.
4. Earn Deka on the Marketplace

Alongside gold, it is useful to know how to earn Deka. The marketplace lets you sell tradable items to other players, but these transactions use Deka rather than gold. Treat this as a separate source of currency, not a way to earn gold.
When you obtain an item, first decide whether to use it yourself or sell it. For unidentified gear in particular, check whether it is tradable and look up its market price before identifying it. Gear that is tradable while unidentified becomes untradable once identified.
When setting a sale price, factor in both the sales fee and the listing fee. The sales fee is deducted when you collect payment, while the listing fee is a deposit you pay when you list an item.

Repeatedly canceling and relisting slow-selling items can cost you listing fees each time. Check market prices and settle on a sale price before you first list an item.
For items you craft yourself, consider the materials and crafting costs as well as the sale price. Working out what you will have left after fees is a basic part of managing your in-game finances through the marketplace.
Closing Thoughts

That covers the basics of saving gold and farming in-game resources in Mabinogi Mobile. There is a lot to consider, but the main principle is simple: cut unnecessary spending and consistently collect the gold available each day. Much like making regular deposits into a savings account, keeping up the habit and eventually seeing a healthy gold balance can be rewarding in itself.
