Saving up mesos to buy boutique fashion items
말랑

This post was created as part of NEXON PEAK activities.

Boutique Gifts dropped this Thursday.
Putting outfits together hasn't been much fun lately, so I've been waiting for this moment.

The Boutique Ticket shop has quite a few items,
but here's my shortlist of things I want to buy:

Boutique Hair Coupon: Bling Rico Hair - 180 Boutique Tickets

Custom Mix Dye & Color Lens Coupon Voucher - 45 Boutique Tickets

Tie Cardigan Set (Male) - Auction House price: 380 million mesos

Heart-Melting Kitty Set (Male) - Auction House price: 1.8 billion mesos
Those are the 4 things I'm after.
Fashion players like me need a lot of mesos during Boutique Gift season,
so it helps to keep stashing the mesos you earn in-game in storage. Here's how I save up mine.
◆ Clearing weekly bosses

These are the 12 bosses I clear each week.

The only reason I haven't cleared Hard Lotus is that I'm practicing Easy 벨로나 ㅎㅎ;
If practice isn't going well and it looks like I won't clear Easy 벨로나 this week either, I run Hard Lotus on Wednesday instead.

Including the value of Hard Lotus's boss crystal, I earn about 2.18 billion mesos a week.

Bosses don't just give you crystals—if you're lucky, you can also get some sought-after rare drops.
Count those too, and the weekly mesos from bossing really add up.
◆ Grinding

I'm not a big fan of grinding, but I do some whenever there's a monster-hunting event.

You can get Sol Erda Fragments from hunting monsters.

The lowest Auction House price is about 6.05 million mesos, so saving up fragments and selling them can bring in a nice chunk of mesos.
◆ Gathering

I only gather occasionally, when I'm bored and really have nothing else to do.
I start by buying a Nimble Rake with 100% durability from the Auction House,

then head to the Expert's Gathering Farm

and harvest Purple Herb Patches.

Each harvest has a chance to give me 1–5 Juniper Berry Seeds,

and their lowest Auction House price is a whopping 700,000 mesos.
Grinding and bossing require a certain level of stats or gear, like drop/meso gear or Combat Power,
but gathering only takes a Nimble Rake from the Auction House, so it seems like a good option for Maple newbies.
So those are 3 ways to earn mesos in MapleStory.
I find it more satisfying to buy the items I want with mesos I've earned in-game than to just spend real money on them,
so that's how I fund myself in MapleStory.
A lot of people seem to avoid MapleStory because it has a reputation for costing a lot of money.
Staying at the cutting edge does cost a lot, but players like me, who keep their gear at a certain level and enjoy putting outfits together, can fund themselves with mesos earned in-game.
