[MapleStory] The Fun of Visiting Friends’ Homes|How to Visit Friends and Invite Them Over in Maple Home

Hello!

I've found that bossing and party hunting aren't the only ways to enjoy MapleStory with other players.

One experience that stands out for me is visiting my friends' Maple Homes and looking around the spaces they'd decorated.

I liked seeing a side of their taste that their character outfits didn't show. It was also nice to have somewhere to drop by and relax without any combat.

I sometimes take a break from hunting to look around other people's homes.

Today, I'd like to walk through the Maple Home visit feature, which I've enjoyed using to visit friends.

1. You Can Have Your Own Home in MapleStory, Too

〈Maple Home〉 lets you decorate your own space with a variety of themes and furniture.

To create your first home, use a character who is level 260 or above

and has completed the 〈The Day After〉 After That Day quest

to begin 〈[Maple Home] Spiegelmann's Super Gift〉.

When I first tried it, the detailed instructions on placing and managing furniture

helped me get comfortable with the editing features fairly quickly.

The UI at the top gives you access to menus for managing your Maple Home, inviting friends, visiting friends' homes, and more.

At first, you might not know what to put where, but decorating is surprisingly fun once you start placing things one by one.

2. A Friend's Home Gives You a Glimpse of Their Taste

I've visited friends' Maple Homes from town

to see what themes they'd chosen for their decor.

Usually, I notice a character's hair and clothes first. Once I'm inside their home, though, I find myself looking at the furniture and layout.

It's another way to get a sense of their taste, beyond their outfits.

I enjoyed seeing what kind of atmosphere they liked and how they'd divided up the space.

Now that I'm decorating my own home, I'm even more curious about how other people have arranged theirs.

When hunting or doing quests, I tend to work toward a specific goal,

but here, I enjoyed simply looking around without feeling like I had to complete anything.

I once dropped by for a quick visit and ran into the homeowner,

who promptly sent me a friend request. Now we're happy to see each other whenever we're online in MapleStory at the same time.

3. How to Visit a Friend's Maple Home

There are several ways to visit.

Situation

How to Visit

Your friend is on the same map

Right-click their character → Visit Maple Home

You're visiting from your friend list

Right-click your friend's name → Visit Maple Home

You're visiting by character name

Enter the name of a character in the same world using Maple Home's visit feature

You can also visit the home of a character you meet in town, as long as their visit permissions allow it.

I liked being able to go from seeing someone's character to looking around their space like this.

Keep in mind that they must have created a Maple Home and allowed visitors.

If the door won't open, it isn't necessarily an error. (Check the homeowner's settings first.)

4. How Do You Invite Friends to Your Home?

If you'd like to invite a friend over, use the “Invite” button in Maple Home.

You can send an invitation by entering the name of a character in the same world.

In the settings, you can also choose who can visit: everyone, friends, guild members, alliance members, and so on.

It's easy to drop by for a look, while homeowners still have control over who can visit.

Here are a few things you can do together:

  • Visit each other's homes to look at the decor

  • Coordinate your outfits and take screenshots in a space you like

  • Get together and chat during a break from hunting

Who I'd Recommend This To

I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys putting together outfits and decorating spaces,

or anyone looking for a place to relax with friends outside of combat.

For me, Maple Home has been a fun way to see other people's taste in decor.

Next time I visit, I plan to tell the homeowner which spots I liked rather than just look around.

Anyone who'd like to join me for a break in Maple Home is always welcome ... ^_^
