[Mabinogi Mobile] A Quest Your Compass Can’t Solve: A Walkthrough of the Riddles Leading to Dagda’s Great Adventure

This post was created as part of

the Nexon PEAK program.

In Mabinogi Mobile,

the magic compass guides you around,

so most quests and missions

are hard to miss.

With 다그다, though, you need to read the clues,

work things out for yourself,

and interact with what you find.

The compass won't start the quest automatically,

so it's quite easy to miss.

So, let's begin:

a walkthrough of the prerequisite quest

for 다그다's Great Adventure.

I'll tell it as a story as we go.

Beside the Alby Dungeon Moon Gate in Tir Chonaill,

have you ever spotted a book?

I certainly have.

There it sat, all by itself.

Whenever I passed, I assumed its owner would come back for it,

and simply went on my way.

On rainy days and bright, sunny days alike,

that book was always in the same spot.

Then one day,

I was about to walk past as usual,

but I couldn't quite leave it alone, so I picked it up.

No sooner had I lifted the book

than a voice echoed inside my head.

Honestly, it gave me a bit of a fright.

Still, I gathered my courage

and listened carefully.

Who could 아드반트 반 고스트 be?

운드리, a magic cauldron overflowing with food?

The tomb of 다그다, the cauldron's owner?

I carefully opened the book.

In it, the author says he has found a clue.

But rather than share it outright,

he makes you earn that clue

by solving a riddle he's devised.

(Couldn't he just tell us? How stingy.)

The riddle reads:

"I would often climb there to look down upon Tir Chonaill.

I have left a small gift among the flowers blooming there.

If you wish to claim my gift, come to that place."

A place overlooking Tir Chonaill,

somewhere with flowers...

One spot comes to mind right away:

the lookout.

At the lookout, you can find lavender

that doesn't grow anywhere else.

It's also where you can meet Nao,

and where I first opened my eyes after landing in Erinn.

While I'm at the lookout, I stop to say hello to Nao.

I thought I offered a fairly warm greeting,

but I don't get much of a welcome in return.

The setting is as lovely as ever, though.

Now, let's search through the flowers.

As you may know, lavender

is an ingredient in Flavorful Steak.

That's why I used to come to the lookout so often to gather flowers.

Today, though, I'm here for a clue to the magic cauldron,

so I suspect I'll need a different flower.

And sure enough,

I can interact with a flower that's different from the usual ones.

Flowers you can gather show the interaction icon pictured on the left,

while flowers that give you a clue to 다그다

show the icon pictured on the right,

so I had no trouble telling them apart.

Anyway, tucked away among the flowers:

a note and a water bottle, which I pick up.

(The text flashed past so quickly

that, yes, I had to use another character to capture the screenshot again.)

I open the first clue.

"I lie buried near the golden fields where grain sprouts.

Quench my thirst with two sips of water, and I shall give you the answer."

Buried, you say?

That leaves me feeling a little uneasy,

but I take a look at the map.

Can you see it?

That rather familiar shape?

Yes, that's right.

It's the farmland in Tir Chonaill.

But who could be behind that ? down below?

I'll have to look into that once all this is finished.

I mark the spot on the map and run over,

and there I find a single flower

just like the one I saw earlier.

Could the "I" in the note be the flower talking about itself?

Is 반 고스트 a flower?

As I look around,

a message tells me there's a patch of unusually damp soil.

If the soil is especially waterlogged,

common sense says to dry it out.

But I was given a water bottle earlier,

and the clue mentioned drinking water, so that can't be right.

(I don't have a hair dryer, either.)

The drinking water drawn from Tir Chonaill's stream

is famous for tasting good.

Still, compared with the water my feet have been soaking in,

water they haven't touched should be cooler and cleaner,

so I point the mouth of the bottle upstream and fill it.

I bring the water bottle back and interact with the flower again,

and this time, the message changes.

"Shall I sprinkle the water from the stream onto the soil?"

So that's why it's so damp.

Just how much water has this flower been drinking?

Well, I'm the one who wants answers, after all.

I sprinkle the water.

Out comes a note.

Worried the paper might be wet, I pick it up carefully.

It's actually given me two notes at once.

I examine them one by one.

First, I turn the map upside down.

What do you think? See the resemblance?

It seems to be across the bridge from the spot

where I watered the flower and found the clues, so let's head over.

I thought I'd have to search around the spot marked on the map,

but then I notice a light.

It looks suspicious from the very first glance.

And sure enough, it's across the water.

I hurry over and touch it.

The moment I do, another light appears.

I run straight toward it,

but it's gone.

Of course. Life is never that easy.

I take another look at the third note.

Hmm.

It seems I'm not supposed to go in a straight line.

Back where the light appeared

and vanished after I touched it, I head a little to the left

and spot a patch of bushes.

Then, following the path described in the clue...

a door opens.

At last, I've found the door.

There is one catch, though.

Even with the mystery solved,

you can't enter unless you're in a party.

You'll need all four party members gathered before you can go in.

+P.S.+

While solving the riddles to find the entrance to 다그다's Great Adventure,

I came across this ? — who could it be?

You'll find them just below the farmland in Tir Chonaill,

so if you haven't met them yet, do stop by and say hello.
