This post was created as part of NEXON PEAK activities.

Hello, I’m 이호, an adventurer living in Erinn!
Can someone you meet in a game become a real friend? Playing Mabinogi Mobile, I’ve started to feel that the people I’ve met really are becoming friends. Between finding our rhythm in battle and showing off our favorite outfits and dyes, we’ve gradually started sharing our hobbies outside the game, too.
Today, I’d like to share a few stories about the people on my friends list. I’ll start with 휴지, whom I met in the Abyss and eventually ended up living with in My Home.

You may remember 휴지 from when I introduced my pets! We first met in the Abyss. The Abyss is one of the game’s main combat activities, where you can form a party with other adventurers and take on challenges together. To this day, 휴지 is my irreplaceable duo partner, and we still share a My Home! Back then, 휴지 wasn’t in a guild, so I went straight into my guild recruitment pitch (haha).

It was a simple enough first meeting, but almost 1 year later, we’re still playing together. 휴지 and I had a shared love of Mabinogi Mobile from the start. Talking about the game brought us closer, and we still share plenty of game tips and information.

I feel awfully shy writing about how we became friends. (There’s actually a 102% chance 휴지 will read this.)

Looking back, those conversations with 휴지 about the game we both love have become fond memories. Eventually, we even moved in together through My Home’s shared housing.
My Home gives you a house in the game to decorate as your own! A recent update also made it possible to live with other adventurers. For us, it’s become another part of the game we can enjoy together!

We don’t just talk about combat, either. Whenever a new season brings new outfits, we show off our clothes and dyes to each other. No matter how much you love dressing up, it’s not quite the same without someone to share it with.
So whenever I happen to run into 휴지, I’ll ask,
"Are you busy?"
"Will you take a look at my dyes?"
And just like that, I’ve caught them on the spot, and we sometimes end up spending hours taking screenshots together.

We may have met in a game rather than in person, but what began as conversations about Mabinogi Mobile gradually grew into sharing other hobbies we enjoy. As we discovered more things we had in common outside the game, I felt more and more that we were becoming friends.
We met in a game—and perhaps that’s exactly why we became friends who share our interests.
That’s what comes to mind when I think about my friendship with 휴지. We loved the same game from the start, made memories playing together, and are still getting to know each other’s interests beyond it.

Of course, 휴지 isn’t the only person I’ve connected with in Erinn. Someone else introduced me to 밍망. They also live with me in My Home, and we chat from time to time.
And there are so many other people I’d love to introduce!

There’s also K—we often share our other hobbies, and I’ve even paid them a friendship fee(?). Honestly, I could go on forever!
I remember the story behind each person on my friends list: how we met, the time we spent together, and the conversations we had. I think that’s part of why I can’t let go of Mabinogi Mobile. To me, it’s more than a game—it’s a box full of memories.

📷 To the people who no longer play but haven’t been forgotten: I hope you’re doing well. |

Isn’t That the Beauty of an RPG?
You meet people while playing your character, and the stories you share with them stay with you. That’s how the people I’ve met in Mabinogi Mobile have become lasting connections. It does make me sad when someone leaves the game without a word, though. Even if we haven’t met in person, I don’t think that makes these connections any less real. To me, this is how we become friends through a game.

If I were recommending Mabinogi Mobile based on my own experience, I’d want to tell people who enjoy these kinds of moments about it.
-
People who enjoy working together and finding their rhythm in battle.
-
People who find joy in showing each other their characters’ outfits and dyes.
-
People who love growing together and savoring the little wonders along the way.
The content a game offers matters, of course, but I’m thinking of people who also want to find some human warmth in it!

Of course, not everyone will feel the same way I do. We all spend different amounts of time playing, and some people stop altogether. Even so, I want to cherish the connections I have now. I remember the stories we’ve shared so far, and I hope we’ll keep playing together for a long time to come.

I felt a little shy about it, but today I wanted to share an honest story about the friends I’ve met in Erinn. I hope we’ll keep playing together for a very long time—battling side by side, showing off new outfits, and sharing the things we love!
