Challenging Gaming Achievements: From Hard-Earned Titles and Medals to Reaching Challenger for the First Time

This post was created as part of Nexon PEAK activities.

Gaming achievements can be hard-earned for different reasons. Some require players to log in regularly over a long period to complete a set number of runs. Others take repeated attempts to reach a goal that has long remained out of reach.

This post covers the requirements for earning MapleStory’s Seven Day Monster Parker medal, alongside achievement stories shared by Mabinogi Mobile and FC ONLINE players.

1. MapleStory: Seven Day Monster Parker, a Medal That Required 11 Weeks

Earning MapleStory’s Seven Day Monster Parker medal used to require a sustained commitment. Players had to complete Monster Park 77 times on each day of the week, from Monday through Sunday. Once they had collected all 7 day-specific medals, they could exchange them with Spiegelmann for Seven Day Monster Parker.

That added up to 539 runs. Even completing the daily maximum of 7 runs at the time without missing a day took 11 weeks, while using only the 2 free entries took 39 weeks. Earning a single medal meant keeping to a schedule for months.

Crucially, reaching the total number of runs was not enough. Extra runs on Sunday could not make up for missing runs on Monday. Players who missed a particular day had to wait for that day of the week to come around again.

This was a different kind of challenge from winning a single difficult battle. Players could defeat monsters quickly, but they could not make the days pass any faster. Sticking to the schedule from start to finish was the key.

Anyone attempting it now, however, no longer needs to plan around the old 77-run requirement. The current official guide specifies 30 completions for each day of the week.

2. Mabinogi Mobile: Earning Versatile Genius Through Repeated Crafting

Mabinogi Mobile’s “Versatile Genius” title requires players to level multiple classes, reaching a cumulative class level of 975. This calls for a different approach to progression than focusing on a single class. Players can raise class levels through hunting or by using “Spirit Traces.”

One player who earned the title shared that they began crafting with a target of 165,000 Spirit Traces. For the first 80,000–90,000, maxing out crafting skills and increasing their life skill power made the process enjoyable. Gathering materials allowed them to make progress in other areas along the way.

The difficult stretch came once all their crafting skills were maxed out. Crafting was time-consuming, and repeating the same tasks wore down their motivation. They eventually obtained the final 20,000–30,000 by purchasing level 60 accessories and armor from the marketplace.

What stands out in this account is the final stretch, when the goal was close. Early on, improving crafting skills made the work rewarding. Later, the player had to finish what remained without that sense of progress.

Later, the September 25, 2025 update changed the “Fruits of Possibility” achievement to total the highest level reached in each class across all characters on the server. Classes leveled on different characters could now contribute to the achievement.

Even so, players continue to work steadily toward becoming a “versatile genius in the truest sense” with only 1 main character and no alternate characters.

3. FC ONLINE: A Player in Their 40s Reaches Challenger for the First Time

The final story follows an FC ONLINE player in their 40s who reached Challenger for the first time. Unlike the medal and title discussed earlier, this was an achievement in competitive ranking.

On August 23, 2026, Inven user “남보쥬니어” shared news of their first promotion to Challenger. They described having long remained in World Class II before reaching Challenger for the first time that season. Their post included 3 screenshots documenting the achievement and words of encouragement for fellow players in their 40s.

Though brief, this story shows why a first promotion can be a memorable personal achievement. Challenger may be familiar territory for players already competing at a high rank. For someone who has long stayed at the same rank, however, reaching it for the first time marks a breakthrough toward a long-standing goal.

Milestones like these also deserve a place in discussions of gaming achievements. A rank does not have to be universally recognized as the highest to matter: reaching a level that was previously out of reach is meaningful in itself.

Closing Thoughts

These stories span MapleStory’s Seven Day Monster Parker, Mabinogi Mobile’s Versatile Genius, and a first Challenger promotion in FC ONLINE. Requirements may change over time, but the effort players put into reaching those goals remains part of their personal gaming histories.
