If you want to learn the shooting controls in FC Online, try the shooting section in basic training. It lets you focus on shooting and compare results as you adjust your aim and power, making it a useful starting point for beginners.
Even if you do not know much about football, you do not need to memorize complex tactics or skill moves right away. This guide explains how to use practice mode in FC Online to learn step by step, starting with normal shots.
Practice Shooting in Basic Training

First, open basic training from the play guide and select the shooting section.
When a drill begins, check the goal and control instructions first. Do not assume shooting practice is simply about scoring as many goals as possible. Check what you need to hit and which conditions you need to meet.
Start simple: choose an easy stage from those available and practice normal shots. Once you are comfortable with the controls, move on to other shot types and more difficult drills.
Practice Shot Direction and Power Separately

|
Shot Type |
Controls |
How to Use It |
|
Normal shot |
D |
Use in standard scoring situations Control the power gauge by varying how long you hold the key |
|
Low shot |
Hold D to charge the power gauge, then tap D again |
Keep the ball low to aim for the bottom of the goal |
|
Finesse shot |
Z + D |
Curve the ball toward a corner of the goal |
|
Chip shot |
Q + D |
Lift the ball over a goalkeeper who has come forward |
With the default keyboard settings, use D for a normal shot, Z+D for a finesse shot, and Q+D for a chip shot. For a low shot, hold D to charge the power gauge, then tap D again before the shooting animation begins. If you have remapped your keys, refer to your own control settings.
If you use several shot types from the start, it is hard to tell which input changed the result. Start simple with normal shots, and practice direction and power separately.

First, get a feel for shot direction. Take shots from similar positions with similar power, changing only your aim. Check whether the ball misses to the left or right of the target so you can decide what to adjust on your next attempt.
Second, get a feel for the power gauge. Keep aiming in the same direction while making small changes to how long you hold D. Rather than filling the gauge all the way from the start, compare how the ball travels with a brief press and a longer hold.
For example, if the ball goes above the target, try using less power on your next attempt while keeping your position and aim similar. Changing your position and aim as well makes it harder to tell why the result changed.
Check the Target First in Target Drills

If a stage includes targets, choose one to aim for rather than focusing on the goal as a whole. Before shooting, check where the target is and whether any obstacles are in the way. If you miss, check which side of the target the ball passed.
It is also better to dribble into a suitable position before shooting, rather than shoot as soon as you receive the ball.
Once you are comfortable with normal shots, try comparing them with finesse shots or low shots if the drill allows it. Do not assume a different shot type will automatically earn a higher score. Focus on finding a shot trajectory that suits the target.

The difficulty gradually increases
During practice, focus on these three checks.
-
Drill goal: Check first whether you need to score goals or hit targets
-
Where you missed: Check whether the ball went too high or missed to the left or right
-
Next attempt: Change either your aim or your power, not both
This gives you something to check on every attempt, even when repeating the same drill. Alongside your final score, look at how much less often you make the same mistakes.
Although scoring goals is generally the main objective, some drills may also require you to hit targets to reach the required score within the time limit. Check whether this applies before you begin.
Wrapping Up
That covers how to use practice mode in FC Online and approach the shooting drills in basic training. If the shooting controls are unfamiliar, start simple: use normal shots to get a feel for direction and power. Rather than practice several techniques at once, identify one reason you missed and try again.
