Their interactions are sweet, too. They bat at a fish-shaped toy with their paws and leap after a fluttering butterfly. It is a different kind of play from the regular cats rolling around with their own tails.

They may all be cat pets, but summoning them and watching them move can change how you see them. Sometimes I choose one for its appearance, only to grow even fonder of its interactions. Watching these little moments, I can sense the developers' love for cats.

Of course, if you want a pet to help in combat, it is worth checking its companion stats and skills. A pet's unique skill becomes available at Epic rarity and is enhanced at Legendary. Regular skills become more effective when the pet's tags match the skill's tags.

For combat, the Shih Tzu, with high Additional Hit and Critical Hit stats, and the apricot piglet, with high Break and Critical Hit stats, are useful choices regardless of which class I play.

Among cats, the Norwegian Forest Cat is a good choice for its high Strong Hit Enhancement and Critical Hit stats. It is also nicknamed the “강치 cat,” short for those two stats in Korean.

For those who care about appearance and interactions, though, there is a welcome feature: the option to choose a separate pet to accompany you only in town.

A town-only pet does not boost your stats, but it can keep you company in non-combat locations such as towns, lodgings, My Home, and 스텔라돔. You can take a pet with the stats and skills you need into combat, then summon your favorite cat in town.

So if what you want is the pleasure of spending time with a cute pet, there is no need to follow a tier list from the outset. Choosing the cat you find most lovable is a perfectly good option, too.

4. The Charm of Cats in My Home and 스텔라돔

When I return to My Home, the first thing I do is let my cat rest in its pet bed. There is no need to do this, but watching it knead the bedding before settling down comfortably lifts my spirits, too.

I also love the way it lies down beside me when I sit in a chair or lie on a bed. Coming home after an adventure together and watching it settle in for a rest makes everyday life in the game feel a little cozier.

As I travel from place to place on quests, seeing it trot along behind me feels like having a little friend I have known for years at my side. People say you need good karma from a past life to meet a cat that enjoys going for walks. I am glad I can have one this way, at least.

In 스텔라돔, I enjoy admiring other players' pets, too. A couple I met today were sitting side by side, each with a Shih Tzu, and it was a sweet sight. Another player had a calico cat with them. I felt a sense of kinship and shyly took a seat beside them.

If I were more outgoing, I might have asked, “Do you like cats, too?” But I am rather shy and could not quite bring myself to say it. Still, there was comfort in simply knowing that another player who shared my love of cats was nearby.
