Hello, 게임하늘 here.

I covered MapleStory Classic World a while back, and there have been some updates since then. Today, we’ll look at its official release and Korean language support. Korea already has games based on classic MapleStory, such as Mapleland and 메이플 플래닛, on MapleStory Worlds, so there has been plenty of interest in whether global Classic MapleStory will launch in Korea. In this post, we’ll cover the official release schedule for global Classic MapleStory, also known as 글클메, and how to download it.

Let’s get started.

There has been more news about global Classic MapleStory lately. According to updates from GMS, the game has not officially launched yet. The closed beta began on April 19, 2026, and the official release is reportedly set for October 21, 2026—next Wednesday. For now, it appears to still be in beta testing. Reports from GMS suggest that player numbers are already very high, so I’m curious to see what happens once the game officially launches.

Korean Language Support

Another update about global Classic MapleStory concerns Korean language support. Many players have been wondering whether the game would support Korean at launch, and we got an answer today: Korean support is set to begin on October 15. With that now confirmed, it looks like global Classic MapleStory will be playable in Korea as well. The downside is that you’ll need to connect through the GMS launcher, which requires a VPN.

How to Download

To download the game, first visit the official global Classic MapleStory website. Note that this is the international site, not a dedicated Korean site. Sign in with your Google account or another account, then download the Nexon Launcher.

Next, sign in and open the launcher. Unfortunately, the game has not officially launched, so you can’t play it yet. As mentioned earlier, the official release is on October 21, so it looks like we’ll have to wait until then to play. I’m looking forward to it, especially with Korean support on the way.

Wrapping Up

Today, we covered the release date for global Classic MapleStory, or 글클메, and how to download it. I’m very curious to see how the launch goes next Wednesday. I’m also looking forward to comparing Mapleland and MapleStory Classic and seeing what Nexon’s take on classic MapleStory is like.

That’s all from 게임하늘. Thanks for reading!
