Hello, I'm 껑이, a gaming blogger.
When someone asks which class to choose as a mobile RPG beginner, I recommend a class that is easy to control and can reliably stay alive rather than one that simply deals high damage.
One advantage of Mabinogi Mobile is that you can level multiple classes on a single character, so there is no need to worry too much about your first class choice.
Today, I'll share my Mabinogi Mobile class tier list for beginners.
Let's take a closer look.
Mabinogi Mobile Class Tier List
Class ratings in Mabinogi Mobile vary depending on whether you are raiding, farming regular enemies, or using auto-battle, so no single tier list applies equally well to every type of content.
This tier list is subjective, so I recommend using it as a guide while also considering your own playstyle.
|
Tier |
Recommended Mabinogi Mobile Classes |
|
S |
Ice Mage, Archer, Knight |
|
A |
Swordsman, Greatsword Warrior, Healer, Bard, Lightning Mage |
|
B |
Longbowman, Crossbowman, Fire Mage, Priest, Monk, and others |
|
C |
Warrior, Mage, Thief, Fighter, Musician |
Class balance has also been changing regularly in recent updates.
Although the Longbowman's main attack skills received damage increases in the October 1 update, it is still not a class I would recommend to beginners, so I placed it in B tier.
Recommended Mabinogi Mobile Classes for Beginners
My main recommendation for new players is to choose a class with straightforward skills, such as Ice Mage, Archer, or Knight.
The Ice Mage stands out for its area attacks and consistent performance in combat.
It is relatively easy to learn, making it a good option for beginners who frequently use auto-battle or want an easier time farming regular enemies.
The Archer's biggest advantage is the ability to attack from a distance.
Melee classes have to fight right in front of a boss while dodging ground hazards. Attacking from range makes it easier to keep track of the whole screen, so this class is a good fit for anyone new to mobile combat.
If you prefer melee combat, I recommend the Knight.
The Knight offers more than just attack power. Its survivability and ability to contribute to a party make it a versatile choice.
Here is a quick summary:
Auto-battle and reliability: Ice Mage
Comfortable ranged combat: Archer
Survivability and party contributions: Knight
Healing and support: Healer
Buff-focused party play: Bard
For beginners, I recommend a character that is easy to level and control rather than one with the highest performance ceiling.
Changing Classes in Mabinogi Mobile
In Mabinogi Mobile, you do not need to create a new character if you are unhappy with your first class.
If you own a weapon or emblem for the class you want to try, you can switch to it on the same character.
Your previous class retains its level and experience even after you switch. If you start as an Archer but find melee combat more enjoyable, you can switch to Knight or Swordsman. Likewise, if you start as a Knight and later find ranged combat more comfortable, you can level a ranged class instead.
However, I do not recommend trying to level every class at once when you first start.
It is much more efficient to focus your equipment and progression resources on one main class early on, then level a second class once you are familiar with the game.
Events for Leveling Multiple Classes
The ongoing progression events can also make it easier to get another class ready to play.
One notable example is the Erinn Burning Challenge: Boost, which runs until December 17, 2026, at 5:59 a.m.
New and returning players can earn a variety of progression rewards by completing missions, including Spirit Traces that can be used for class progression.
Equipment support boxes and rune-related rewards are also available, making the event useful both for progressing with your first class and for preparing other classes later.
Players at level 100 or above can also earn the rune and equipment rewards needed for late-game progression through the Erinn Burning Challenge: Max.
Personally, I think these progression events help players make the most of Mabinogi Mobile's multiple-class system.
Since the game does not permanently lock you into your first class, I recommend starting with one you find comfortable to play. You can then use progression resources from events to try other classes that interest you, one at a time, and choose the one that suits you best.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q. Which class should a mobile RPG beginner start with?
A. My first recommendations are Ice Mage, Archer, and Knight. Ice Mage offers reliable farming, Archer excels at ranged combat, and Knight provides survivability and party support.
Q. Should I just choose the highest-ranked class?
A. No. Ratings vary between regular farming, auto-battle, and raids. Beginners should prioritize ease of control over maximum DPS.
Q. If I dislike my first class, do I need to start over?
A. If you obtain a weapon or emblem for another class, you can switch to it on the same character. Your previous class also retains its level and experience.
Q. Can I level multiple classes?
A. Yes, but I recommend focusing on one main class early on. After that, it is more efficient to use Spirit Traces and event rewards to level additional classes.
Q. Can I take part in a progression event if I start now?
A. Eligible new and returning players can participate in the Erinn Burning Challenge: Boost. According to the current official schedule, it runs until December 17, 2026.
That wraps up my guide to mobile RPG class recommendations, covering the Mabinogi Mobile class tier list, beginner-friendly choices, class switching, and progression events.
