[MapleStory] Is This Online RPG for You?|Enjoy Checking Off Tasks? Why I Recommend MapleStory’s Daily Quests and Boss Scheduler

Nexon's PEAK activities.

Hello, I'm 온야.

I really enjoy organizing my schedule and working through a few tasks each day.

If that sounds like you, I highly recommend MapleStory.

You can set daily and weekly goals, and the rewards you earn add up to steady character growth.

Getting much stronger all at once is nice, but there's also satisfaction in seeing your character grow a little stronger than they were yesterday.

I keep playing MapleStory because I enjoy achieving small goals after work.

If, like me, you enjoy following routines and seeing the progress they bring,

I'd like to share which parts of the game might suit you.

1. For those who enjoy achieving small goals every day

MapleStory has repeatable quests you can complete every day.

The ones I do regularly are the daily quests in Arcane River.

261011_01

You can take them on after completing each area's story quests,

and completing them rewards you with that area's Arcane Symbols and EXP.

So,

what is an Arcane Symbol?

261011_04

It's an equipment item that increases your character's main stats and Arcane Power.

Click [Symbol] in the Equipment UI to see your equipped symbols (the maximum level is 20).

And what is Arcane Power?

261011_03

It's a stat required by the hunting maps in Arcane River.

If yours is below the map's requirement, you deal less damage to monsters

and may take more damage from them.

What about Arcane River? It was created when the Black Mage merged Maple World, Grandis, and FriendStory World...

That leads into a much larger story,

so I'll leave it aside for today.

ㅋㅋ That was a lengthy explanation, but in short…

Collecting symbols is a daily routine that makes hunting smoother and helps your character grow.

Collect symbols from the same area to fill their growth gauge,

then spend mesos to upgrade them, further increasing your Arcane Power and main stats.

261011_10

I like that the quests I complete today leave me with lasting progress.

I collect a little today,

a little more tomorrow,

and once I can upgrade a symbol, I level it up.

It doesn't all happen at once,

but I enjoy seeing that progress build up little by little.

261011_02

Currently, Arcane River daily quests require you to defeat 100 monsters per area.

I've found that to be a manageable small goal, even when I'm tired after work.

Of course, the more areas you work on, the more you'll have to do overall,

but you can set your goals around what you can manage that day.

I've kept at it, and now I'm working on symbols up through Arcana every day.

Daily quests reset at midnight, so if you log in late at night, keep an eye on the time as the date changes.

2. For those who like making separate daily and weekly plans

Once you've collected symbols, the next step is to upgrade them.

The problem is…

you need mesos.

You have the symbols, but not the money.

261011_08

That's where boss content comes into my routine.

You can earn mesos by selling “Intense Power Crystals,” commonly called boss crystals, that you get from defeating bosses

to the Collector NPC.

261011_07

I plan my daily boss runs by the day,

and my weekly boss runs by the week.

Weekly boss clear records reset every Thursday at 0:00.

This lets me separate my daily tasks from the ones I need to finish that week.

I collect symbols through daily quests,

earn mesos by taking on bosses I can defeat,

and use those resources to strengthen my character. Each routine supports the others.

I do need to choose bosses based on their difficulty and my character's current strength, though.

There's no need to defeat every difficult boss right from the start.

261011_06

To sell your boss crystals,

access the Collector through the Quick Move menu in town.

To get to town, check the travel options available in the Maple Guide.

I use F1 to open the Guide,

but check your own key settings to find your shortcut. ^^ All set.

3. For those who find satisfaction in organizing tasks and checking them off

There's a handy feature for managing these routines.

It's called the Maple Scheduler.

For daily and weekly content, bosses, and more,

it lets me add the activities I want to track and check whether I've completed them.

261011_05

Once you select the quests and bosses you want to track, you can see your tasks at a glance.

I was surprised to find this feature when I returned after a long break.

There's a to-do list right inside the game.

As a J type who enjoys organizing daily and weekly tasks, I really appreciate this feature. ㅎㅎ

What have I done today? Have I defeated that boss this week?

I don't have to keep as much of that in my head.

Looking over the completed tasks is satisfying, too.

I've accomplished something today.

For me, finishing what I planned is part of what keeps the game enjoyable, alongside earning rewards.

My daily routine at a glance

Task

What I gain

What I enjoy

Arcane River daily quests

Arcane Symbols and EXP

Completing small goals every day

Taking on manageable daily and weekly bosses

Boss crystals and other rewards

Earning the mesos needed for upgrades

Upgrading collected symbols

Increased Arcane Power and main stats

Seeing steady effort translate into character growth

Monster Park

EXP, enhancement items, and materials

Opening reward boxes every day

I enjoy building up my character slowly and steadily like this.

There might not be a huge difference between yesterday and today.

But when I look at screenshots from last month or earlier, I can see how much progress I've made.

Stats that were once too low have increased, and I can obtain more types of symbols.

Even without a sudden jump in strength,

I enjoy the sense of moving forward as I build up my character little by little.

That's why I recommend it to these players

  • Those who enjoy achieving small goals every day

  • Those who like making daily and weekly plans

  • Those who want to see their character grow through the rewards they collect

  • Those who prefer gradual, long-term growth over reaching the finish line quickly

261011_09

I find that having a few things to do each day helps me enjoy a game at a slower pace and stick with it longer.

Setting goals for the day and finishing them one by one suits me better than logging in and feeling unsure what to do.

Still, feeling that you have to do every piece of content can turn even an enjoyable routine into a burden,

so it's best to set yourself an amount you can enjoy.

It's fine to scale back your goals when you're tired.

For me, MapleStory turns the little things I do each day into lasting character growth.

If, like me, you enjoy planning your schedule

and find satisfaction in achieving small goals,

I think this way of playing MapleStory could suit you well.

With that, I'm off to organize my weekly boss checklist... ㅎㅎ
