Hello! 온야 here.
If you're looking for something light to play with friends in MapleStory,
let me introduce the 〈한글 모아모아〉 mini-game.
The familiar rules make it easy to get started,
and comparing your high scores is a fun way to play with friends.
Wearing matching Hangul reward hats with your friends sounds fun, too.
It's nice to have a mini-game like this when you want a quick break from hunting.
1. What Kind of Game Is 한글 모아모아?
The name fits right in with Hangul Day in October.
You stack blocks shaped like Hangul consonants and vowels, filling horizontal rows to clear them and earn points.
Simply put, it's a Tetris-style mini-game.

The familiar format made it easy to pick up without a lengthy explanation.
The Hangul blocks and UI are cute, too.
It's a different kind of fun from improving your character's stats and fighting monsters,
so I found it a nice way to clear my head during a break from leveling.
Of course, once your score starts climbing,
your brain ends up working harder instead of taking a break.
2. Where Do You Start?

I started by selecting 〈한글 모아모아〉 from the event list in the sidebar.
Being able to launch the mini-game without finding a map and traveling all the way there was convenient.
The event runs until October 14, 2026, at 11:59 PM.
It's open to characters level 101 and above, and Zero characters must have completed Story Chapter 2.
I also played this mini-game while using the VIP Sauna.
Fitting blocks together made the wait less boring than just staring at the screen while my EXP built up in the sauna.
3. Earn Hangul Hats as Your Points Add Up
The event also offers rewards for reaching cumulative score milestones.
As your points add up, you can earn hats shaped like ㅁ·ㅇ·ㅍ.
I reached a score milestone myself and put on the Mieum hat. ㅎㅎㅎ

So cuteㅋㅋ
These hats have a nice little detail:

Source: MapleStory event page
when characters wearing ㅁ, ㅇ, and ㅍ stand next to each other in that order,
the hats together look like “메이플” (Maple).
They're cute on their own, but standing side by side with two friends, each wearing a different hat, sounds even more fun.
Everyone just needs to take a letter.
4. Try a High-Score Challenge with Friends
After trying it myself, I thought it would be good for a little friendly high-score competition, too.
The familiar rules make it easy to get started,
and since your character's gear isn't a factor, you can compete on block-stacking skill alone.
You don't join the same round; instead, you compare scores from your individual runs.

Send a friend a screenshot like this with “Try beating this,” and the challenge is onㅎ
That could go on forever,
so it might be fun to set a rule like playing 3 rounds each and comparing your highest scores.
-
Play 3 rounds each and compare high scores
-
Agree on a target score and race to reach it first
-
Share screenshots of rounds where you stacked well—or everything went wrong
When you play alone, you only have your own scores to look at,
but a friend's score gives you one more goal to aim for.
Wearing matching hats earned from your cumulative points would be a nice bonus.
I've got the Mieum hat, so I just need two friends to take Ieung and Pieup.
Friends who enjoy chasing high scores can try to beat each other's records,
while friends who enjoy dressing up can have fun collecting hats.
5. Browsing the Rankings Is Fun, Too
There's also a high-score leaderboard, and the top 100 players receive a special title.
You can see the ranked players' nicknames and scores, which should make it even more fun for anyone who enjoys high-score competition.
I took a look at the rankings myself, and I had no idea there were so many Tetris experts.
How is everyone scoring so high?
Even if you don't make the rankings,
you can still have fun trying to beat yesterday's score.
Who Would Enjoy This Mini-Game?
|
If You... |
Try This |
|
Want a quick break from hunting |
Play a casual round |
|
Enjoy a little friendly competition |
Set a round limit and compare high scores |
|
Like cute cosmetic rewards |
Collect Hangul hats as your points add up |
|
Enjoy breaking records and climbing the rankings |
Aim for a personal best and a spot in the rankings |
This isn't really for players looking to cooperate in the same round.
It's better suited to friends who want to play individually and share their scores.
I liked how easy it was to get started
and how the points from each run add up toward rewards.
Competing for high scores with friends and wearing matching ㅁ·ㅇ·ㅍ hats sounds like an even cuter way to enjoy it.
The event ends on October 14, so if you're interested, give it a try before then.
You might open it for a quick break and end up taking your block stacking seriouslyㅎㅎ.
That's all for now ~_~
