[Mabinogi Mobile] Constantly Dying Is No Fun! Recommended Beginner Classes for 200% Survivability in Mabinogi Mobile

This content was created as part of

NEXON PEAK activities.

If you are new to mobile RPGs, I recommend starting with a class that is relatively easy to play rather than one that is difficult to handle. Mabinogi Mobile has 6 class groups and 21 classes in total. Of these, the Monk, Ice Mage, and Knight are my recommendations for beginners looking to get comfortable with the game. As with many RPGs, you will likely play alongside other people, perhaps including your friends, but these three classes also offer a balanced way to learn the ropes when playing solo.

For Starters, They Are Tough!

The Monk is a melee healer, the Ice Mage is a tank that uses ice magic, and the Knight is a self-healing tank that also provides support. All three are quite durable, which makes staying alive easier. Classes built for exceptionally high damage, such as the Swordsman, Pyromancer, and Thief, tend to have lower health or weaker defenses. It makes sense when you consider that their strengths lie in speed or an all-in investment in intelligence, but dealing high damage is not much fun if you keep dying. That is why I recommend these three more durable classes.

So which of these three should you choose? Even when you are just starting out, it helps to consider what kind of playstyle appeals to you. Want a durable class that can keep healing your party members? Choose the Monk. Want to be the toughest member of the group and protect everyone from the front? Choose the Ice Mage. Want to take the front line while also protecting or supporting your party? I recommend the Knight.

Games often divide roles into tanks, DPS, and healers. The Monk is a healer, the Ice Mage is a tank, and the Knight is a tank that doubles as support. Picking the role that appeals to you most from these three classes should make exploring Mabinogi Mobile's world of Erinn a little easier.

But What Matters Most?

Think of a class recommendation as a letter from someone who already plays the game. As a player who enjoys it, I want newcomers to have a smoother start. If they quit because they keep dying or simply are not having fun, there are fewer people to share the game with. I want to help beginners stick around, not drive them away. That is why I recommend classes that are relatively easy to pick up (though an easier start certainly does not mean an easy path to mastering the class).

With that in mind, when you log into Mabinogi Mobile, browse the classes during character creation and choose the one that speaks to you most. Every class has its strengths and weaknesses, as well as skills with their own distinct style. The Bard's skills are beautiful, while the Swordsman's agile movements look impressive. There is something reassuring about watching a Monk in action. The Pyromancer is flashy, and the Thief is quick. Consider which class appeals to you most, then try it in the game to see whether it really suits you.

After all, Mabinogi Mobile gives you the freedom to change classes. Putting builds aside, since those are a separate consideration, you are not locked into your starting class as you are in most other RPGs. You can try classes one by one and discover what you enjoy. When RPG beginners look up class recommendations, I see it as gathering information to help them get more enjoyment out of the game. With that goal in mind, the Monk, Ice Mage, and Knight all offer an easy starting point. Still, I hope you keep in mind that you can explore your options as you play: the class system is open, rather than locking you into a single choice.

P.S.

In Mabinogi Mobile,

when you clear a dungeon,

the ending animation

varies depending on

your character's gender, age, and class.

That is worth keeping in mind, too.
