Getting deeply immersed in Mabinogi Mobile by creating a character that truly feels like my own
곤류

This post was created as part of Nexon PEAK activities.

I used to think making my own character in a game was simply a matter of deciding how they would look.
I would picture the usual things first—how to style the face, what clothes to put on them, and what colors would define them.
But after playing Mabinogi Mobile for a long time, that idea changed a little.
The class I chose, the content I enjoyed,
and the choices I made throughout the story all started to shape my character little by little.
Now, my character holds more than just an appearance.
It carries the way I have played the game too,
and because of that, it really has become a character that feels like mine alone.
🕯 Class: I Live as a Monk

The class I’m currently playing is Monk, a healer-type class.
I chose Monk because it feels surprisingly similar to my real personality.

Even in real life, I’m someone who would rather help than step forward and lead.
At the same time, I don’t like standing far back and just watching, so I tend to stay close and help directly.
That’s probably why Monk, a support class that also fights at close range, suits me so well.

In actual play, I’ve been very satisfied with Monk too.
When I’m looking for a party and people are left waiting until the very end
because the healer slot is still empty, I especially like stepping into that role.
It makes me feel like I’m taking on a part the party truly needs,
and that feels meaningful—like becoming a quiet but essential presence in the game.
🧵 Styling: Giving My Character My Own Taste

Styling reflects my everyday taste just as much.
I prefer clothes that feel easy and comfortable over anything too ornate or flashy.
So in Mabinogi Mobile, I naturally end up dressing my character in casual outfits too.
Even in-game, I seem to gravitate toward the styles I already love in real life.

Color is where things differ a little from real life.
I have a cool tone, so warm shades like yellow, brown, and beige don’t really suit me.
They’re colors I genuinely like, but when I actually wear them, the mismatch is so obvious that my face seems to reject them entirely.

So in the game, I use the colors I love as freely as I want.
I set yellow and brown as my character’s main colors,
and matched the hair and eye color in brown tones as well.
In a way, it feels like a bit of vicarious satisfaction—letting my character wear colors that don’t really work on me in real life.
🧹 Playstyle: Somehow, a Diligent Character

My playstyle turned out to be even more interesting than I expected.
When I ask the friends I play with what kind of character mine seems like to them,
they often say my character comes across as diligent and hardworking.

I spend the silver coins and offerings that build up each day as they come,
and I clear weekly reset content like Abyss, raids, and Vanguard Breach right away on Monday.
If a new part-time job appears, I tend to do that immediately too.

It’s not as if I deliberately gave my character a backstory of being diligent,
but because I always seem to be doing something whenever I log in,
it was interesting to realize that my friends had come to see that as part of the character’s personality.
⚖ Choices: What Kind of Light Did I Choose

Even while progressing through the main story, there were moments that revealed what kind of person I am.
In Chapter 3 of Advent of the Goddess, Paladin, there are several scenes where the player has to make choices directly as the story unfolds.
One scene that stayed with me involves a hungry wolf and a frightened sheep.
You can drive away the wolf to help the sheep, or throw a chunk of meat to the wolf.
There is also an option to do nothing and let things unfold according to the order of nature.

After making choices like these a few times, you receive a different title at the end of the story depending on your decisions.
Out of Strong Light, Compassionate Light, and Tranquil Light, the title I received was Tranquil Light.
It was interesting to see that some of my friends and guild members received different titles from mine.
We all played through the same story, but each of us made different choices, and those results remained with our characters as titles.
✨ The Character I Made, My Own
Looking back, my character was never fully decided from the very beginning.
I was the one who chose Monk, and I was the one who styled the character in yellow and brown.
I was the one who kept up with the daily tasks as I played,
and the one who chose the options that led to Tranquil Light.
As those things built up one by one, they shaped the character I have now—the character that is truly my own.
The time I spent playing had quietly been building a story in my character too, one that belonged only to me.
