[MapleStory/Mabinogi] Grouping together some cool places with a similar vibe

This post was created as part of Nexon PEAK activities.

Hello

Mabinogi Mobile and MapleStory both have lots of charming maps that make for great screenshots.

In this post, I grouped together a few pretty backgrounds from the two games that share similar elements. I have not played Mabinogi Mobile nearly as much as MapleStory, but I revisited a few places that stuck in my memory from wandering around and admiring the scenery.

Both games also have dedicated screenshot modes. Mabinogi Mobile lets you hide even your character completely, while MapleStory does not, so I thought that was a particularly nice feature.

Medieval buildings and a fountain: Dunbarton Square and Ristonia

These maps feature scenery with medieval-style buildings and a fountain. In Mabinogi Mobile, you can find this at Dunbarton Square, and in MapleStory, at Ristonia Square.

The fountains are quite different in scale, but each one has its own charm.

Ships and docks: Colhen Dock and Lith Harbor

These maps feature scenery with fishing boats and a harbor. In Mabinogi Mobile, you can find this at Colhen Dock, and in MapleStory, at Valora.

Lith Harbor is of course the most famous harbor in MapleStory, but Valora felt closer in atmosphere to this map, so I paired it here instead. It is located in Grandis.

Full moon and night scenery: Dunbarton Square, Magatia, and Kritias

These maps feature scenery with a round full moon and a night view. In Mabinogi Mobile, you can find this at Dunbarton Square, and in MapleStory, at Magatia.

The moon visible in Mabinogi Mobile is not always there, though. From what I understand, it is part of the current Chuseok event. I happened to catch it at just the right time, and seeing a crescent moon in the sky alongside it gives the scene a rather unusual feeling.

In MapleStory, Magatia is probably the best-known background with a full moon. I am not entirely sure, but the buildings also seem to come from a fairly similar kind of era.

Along with Magatia, Kritias has similar elements as well. The moon there is not a perfect full moon, and compared to Magatia, the buildings feel a little closer to the ones in Dunbarton.

Winter-themed maps: Sidhe Sneachta's Snowman Hill and El Nath

These maps feature scenery where the ground is completely covered in white snow. In Mabinogi Mobile, you can find this at Sidhe Sneachta's Snowman Hill, and in MapleStory, at El Nath.

Personally, I really like the atmosphere of these maps. Snow-covered mountains at night are especially striking, perhaps because it is so rare to actually go into places like that.

Also, while they serve different functions, both games happen to have a giant glowing stone set among the snow, so I took screenshots of them together. That adds a fairly mysterious atmosphere too.

Thank you for reading.
