Can you feel autumn in games too? From Mabinogi Mobile to Animal Crossing 🍂

When you think of autumn, what kind of scene comes to mind?

For me, the first thing that comes to mind is the phrase “season of harvest.”
It’s when the grains and crops tended all year finally ripen and are gathered in,
and around Chuseok, it’s also the time many people head back to their hometowns to see family.
Add in brilliant fall foliage and cool, gentle weather,
and you have the autumn image we all know so well.

Maybe that’s why I end up looking for similar things when I enjoy autumn in games too.
Taking screenshots in places with beautiful fall scenery,
dressing my character in something warm,
or cooking with crops I harvested myself.

This time, I went looking for autumn in the games I’m currently playing:
Mabinogi Mobile, 두근두근타운, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

🌾 A Village That Feels Like Home

1

If I want to soak in an autumn mood in Mabinogi Mobile,
the first place that comes to mind is Tir Chonaill.

2

Tir Chonaill is the starting village where adventurers first begin their journey.
Maybe it’s because it’s small and peaceful,
but to me, it feels a lot like the kind of quiet country town you might see when going back home in autumn.

3

And when I look at Duncan, the village chief of Tir Chonaill,
he even reminds me of the kind of grandfather you might meet while visiting home for Chuseok.

4

There are also golden farmlands spread out around the village.
When I think of autumn, I naturally picture scenes of fully ripened grain being harvested,
and Tir Chonaill’s fields fit that image beautifully.

5

Even Tir Chonaill’s BGM title is “Dance of Fallen Leaves.”
Fallen leaves are such a classic symbol of autumn,
so once you know the music’s title too, the whole village somehow feels even more perfect for the season.

6

If you’re in the mood for Chuseok and that quiet feeling of heading home,
taking a slow walk through Tir Chonaill sounds pretty lovely.

🍁 A True Fall Foliage Hotspot

7

If Tir Chonaill feels like autumn back in your hometown,
then the Goddess’s Garden feels more like going out specifically to admire the fall colors.

8

In the Goddess’s Garden, there’s a huge maple tree glowing in bright red.
There’s also a waterfall and a lake nearby, so with that maple tree in the background,
it’s a lovely place to pose your character and take photos as if you’re out on an autumn picnic.

9

The hilly area south of Gairech is hard to leave out too.
Unlike other regions, the trees and grass there look a little more subdued than bright green,
which gives the area the feeling of a field softly covered in fallen leaves.

10

I think wandering through places like these, finding a view you really love,
and saving a few screenshots is one of the nicest ways to enjoy autumn in a game.

🧦 A Little Extra Coziness for Autumn

11

Once you’ve taken in the scenery, it’s time to dress your character for autumn too.
If you go for warm-looking outfits—like knits or thicker fabrics—instead of something thin and light,
the whole seasonal mood comes through right away.

12

One outfit I especially love is the Bonny Warm Wear.
It features a cozy knit turtleneck sweater
layered with a thick one-piece dress,
and personally, it’s one of those outfits I enjoy in Mabinogi no matter the season.

13

Judging from the item description, it seems like it was made with winter in mind,
but if I imagine wearing it in real life in Korea, it actually feels better suited to autumn,
and in winter it might be colder than you’d expect.

14

The newly added legendary mount Radiant Sol Donkey fits the season nicely too.
The legendary avatar released alongside it is the Harvestia Blessing Set,
and even the name brings harvest and blessings to mind.

15

What I especially like is the yellow fallen-leaf effect that trails behind whenever you ride the donkey,
which makes it perfect for creating an autumn mood.

Once you start searching for fall scenery, dressing in seasonal outfits,
and even riding around on a mount with an autumn feel,
your character suddenly looks completely ready for a cozy little fall outing.

🍂 Our Town Feels Like Autumn Too

15

If part of the fun in Mabinogi Mobile is wandering around in search of autumn scenery,
then in 두근두근타운, you can turn the very space you live in into something that feels like autumn.
두근두근타운 is a game where the in-game seasons move along with the real-world calendar,
so if you log in during autumn in real life, you’ll find autumn scenery waiting for you in-game too.

16

In particular, the large trees in town change into ginkgo trees,

and you can see ginkgo leaves falling around them.
Fallen ginkgo leaves are scattered across the ground too,
so even just standing near the trees makes it feel like the season has changed.

17

If you enjoy lifestyle systems, building, and decorating, you can take it a step further
by styling your home with autumn-friendly furniture, building materials, and outfits.
There’s a slightly different kind of fun in going out to find autumn for yourself
versus bringing autumn into a space of your own.

🍄 When Autumn Comes, It’s Time to Gather

18

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is also a wonderful game for feeling the change of the seasons.
When autumn arrives, the island takes on a warm golden tone overall.
The trees shift into soft fall colors, and even the grass turns closer to khaki than summer green.
Maybe it’s because I love autumn in real life too,
but I always enjoy seeing the whole island in Animal Crossing turn into autumn shades.

20

The fragrant olive that only appears in autumn is lovely too,
and as you walk around the island, you can spot maple leaves drifting through the air.
Shake the trees, and pine cones and acorns will fall; mushrooms also grow around them.

21

So when autumn comes, it’s not just about admiring the island’s scenery.
There are suddenly all sorts of seasonal things to do.
It gives you the feeling that even in-game, you’re moving along with the real-world seasons,
which makes it a game where the arrival of autumn feels especially clear.

🧡 A Little Taste of Autumn in Games Too

There are plenty of ways to enjoy autumn in games too.

In Mabinogi Mobile, you can take in scenery in Tir Chonaill that feels like coming home,
admire the fall foliage in the Goddess’s Garden, and snap photos with a character dressed for the season.

In 두근두근타운, you can stroll through a town filled with ginkgo trees,
and decorate the home you live in to match autumn.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the whole island changes color with the season,
and you can look for autumn-only things like maple leaves, acorns, pine cones, and mushrooms.

This autumn, instead of just logging in and enjoying content the way you always do,
why not step a little off your usual path and look for the autumn scenery you love?
Even in places you’d normally walk right past—like a maple tree tucked into one corner of town or a golden field—
you might find an autumn moment you like more than you expected. 😊
