Hellorong~ (˶ˊꇴˋو(و ⁾⁾
I’m Nexon Picker Dalnyang.
If you’re an online RPG fan, pop-ups where you browse characters or merch are always fun too..!
But offline programs that let you actually move through and experience the game world for yourself are so immersive,
I really think they’re worth trying at least once.
You get to revisit familiar regions and settings in a totally different way in a real-world space,
and by solving puzzles together with friends, the teamwork and sense of achievement you felt in-game
can carry over offline too—that’s the biggest reason why.
MapleStory has now launched this kind of hands-on event too:
‘MAPLESTORY ESCAPE.’
If you’ve played Maple, there’s probably at least one place like Kerning City, Mu Lung Dojo, or Ludibrium
that pops into your head the moment you hear the name, right?
What made this event look especially fun to me is how it reimagines those Maple IP locations
as five different 60-minute escape room themes.
In this post, based on the official website and current reservation info, I’ll break down what kind of program it is, what makes each theme different, and what you’ll want to know before booking.
| Table of Contents |
① Maple beyond the game: What is MAPLESTORY ESCAPE?
② Which theme should you choose? A comparison of 5 escape rooms
③ Before you visit! Location, price, and reservation info
④ Is it over after the escape room? Rankings, merch, and events too
1. Maple beyond the game: What is MAPLESTORY ESCAPE?

MAPLESTORY ESCAPE isn’t just a standard escape room decorated with Maple characters.
It’s an interactive experience built around MapleStory’s “Library of Dimensions” setting as one larger story.
In the Library of Dimensions, five books with missing endings are discovered,
and as the worlds inside those books gradually start to warp, the heroes enter the stories themselves
to recover the “Fragments of Dimensions” and complete the stories.
It’s honestly pretty cool to see the Library of Dimensions setting from the game used this way too.
For players who’ve experienced it in-game, that setup will probably feel especially familiar and welcome.
It’s not just
“an escape room with Maple characters attached to it,”
but
“I’m stepping into Maple World to solve an incident myself.” That’s what makes the experience feel directly tied to the worldbuilding.
Most online RPGs are all about controlling your character through a screen,
so I think the biggest difference with an event like this is that
you get to experience the game IP in real life by moving around and searching for clues yourself.
If you’re the kind of player who, like me, enjoys soaking in a game’s story and regional atmosphere too,
something hands-on like this could end up being even more memorable than a simple merch pop-up~
2. Which theme should you choose? A comparison of 5 escape rooms
MAPLESTORY ESCAPE comes with a total of 5 themes.
What’s especially fun is that it’s not just the regions that change—each one also has its own genre, difficulty, and even horror level!!

So, want to take a quick look at what each theme is about?
|| Kerning City, The Missing People ||

This is a thriller theme built around residents disappearing and strange phenomena happening in Kerning City.
Its official difficulty and horror ratings are both 2, so rather than being all about extremely hard puzzles,
it looks like a great match for players who enjoy Kerning City’s signature dark atmosphere and following the incident as it unfolds.
|| Challenge! Mu Lung Dojo! ||

Personally, just from the theme info alone, the one that stood out to me most was Mu Lung Dojo.
It’s an arcade theme with a difficulty rating of 4, the highest out of the five themes.
Its horror rating is 0, though, so if scary escape rooms aren’t your thing but you do love “clearing high-difficulty expert-level challenges,” this one seems like a great fit.
Even in the game, Mu Lung Dojo has a strong image as step-by-step challenge content,
so it feels especially fitting that the offline version kept that same “challenge” identity too ㅋㅋㅋ
|| You Are Invited to the Haunted Mansion ||

Haunted Mansion is a mystery genre theme with difficulty 2 and horror level 2.
With a setup where heroes are disappearing inside the mansion, it looks like a better fit for players who enjoy immersing themselves in a spooky atmosphere and story more than in especially difficult puzzles.
|| Edelstein The Beginning ||

Edelstein is an infiltration theme centered on a case where people are disappearing one by one.
Its difficulty is 3 and it has no horror elements, so if you prefer the feel of tracking a case or sneaking into somewhere over straightforward puzzle-solving, this is one to keep in mind.
|| Mixed-Up Ludibrium ||

Last up is Mixed-Up Ludibrium, which already sounds a little chaotic just from the name. ㅋㅋㅋ
Its genre is clearly listed as co-op, with difficulty 3 and horror level 0.
So more than being a theme for someone who likes solving everything alone, it looks like the best fit for players who enjoy talking things through with friends, splitting roles, and tackling problems together.
3. Before you visit! Location, price, and reservation info
Since this is an in-person interactive event, one thing that matters just as much as the themes is
where it is, how much it costs, and how to book it, right?
Here’s a quick summary of the currently available info.

The official website lists the address as 90 Wausan-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul,
and the basic theme pass currently sold on YES24 is 58,000 won for 2 people.

Reservation times are split into multiple sessions throughout the day,
and on YES24, they’re currently listed in 60-minute intervals from 10:40 to 22:30.
One thing you really have to check here is arrival time and the important guidelines!!!

The official visitor guide recommends that, for consent forms and bag storage, everyone in the reservation arrives on-site at least 10 minutes before the reserved time,
and
entry may be restricted if you’re more than 20 minutes late.
Electronic devices like phones and smartwatches are also restricted inside the escape room themes, and filming, audio recording, or posting spoilers is prohibited.
That part is pretty much the same as other escape rooms anyway~
So if you’re visiting with blog photos in mind, you won’t be taking photos inside the escape room itself—
you’ll want to use the outside areas where photos are allowed, official photo zones, or the merch area instead.
That’s definitely good to know beforehand.
4. Is it over after the escape room? Rankings, merch, and events too
One thing that makes this event feel a little different from a typical IP escape room is how the record-keeping and collection elements continue even after the room itself, almost like an extension of the game.
|| Theme rankings that keep your record ||

The official website even has a ranking page where you can check escape records by theme.
If you use hints, you’re excluded from the rankings, and identical records are displayed at the same rank.
The rankings are updated every hour.
That really suits a game IP—rather than ending with just “We cleared the escape room!” there’s also that “How fast did we beat it?” side of things, where you compare your time with others and get that extra spark of competitive motivation.
|| Souvenirs that build up the more themes you clear ||
As part of the current official event, clearing an escape room theme gets you 1 out of 5 theme poster postcards,
and if you complete all themes, you receive 1 film keyring.
According to the official notice, this event runs from September 21, 2026 to September 20, 2028.
Trying just one theme sounds great too, but with a reward structure like this, clearing all five one by one
“Should we complete the next book too?”
feels like it could naturally turn into a fun collecting goal as well.
|| Maple merch is sold separately too ||

The official website also shows off various on-site merch featuring Pink Bean, Yeti, Orange Mushroom, Slime, and Stone Spirit,
including plush pouch keyrings, gel pen stands, can badges, and acrylic dioramas.
If you’re the kind of Maple player who gets even more excited about browsing merch than doing the escape room itself, this could be another fun highlight too ㅋㅋ
|| SNS event also in progress ||

There’s also an SNS event going on right now where, by following and liking the official Instagram and so on, you can receive a removable sticker or a main poster postcard.
The event period runs from September 21, 2026 to November 21, and it may end early if stock runs out.
If you’re planning to visit, definitely check these kinds of events in advance too!
So then, who do I think this kind of offline event is the best fit for?
I’d especially recommend it to players who love in-game regions or storylines, people who enjoy co-op content with friends, and
people who want to keep enjoying the IP outside of gameplay too, through things like merch and records
—for fans like that, I think this is a really easy experience to recommend.
After playing MapleStory for a long time, the regions you used to only see on-screen start to feel really familiar, right?
The same daily quests, the grinding..
I think the biggest charm of a game IP-based experience event is that, instead of seeing those places as a simple exhibit, you get to step into them yourself and revisit them as spaces where you solve incidents firsthand.
Especially
|
Kerning City → Ludibrium → Haunted Mansion → Edelstein → Mu Lung Dojo |
Since each theme differs in genre too—whether you want to pick based on the order you first visited these maps while playing Maple or on the difficulty you want to challenge—it feels like a fun event where you can choose the one that best matches your favorite region or play style!
If it feels a little too limiting to enjoy MapleStory only inside the game,
why not experience that familiar world in a different way through an interactive offline event like this?
If you already love escape rooms, you can choose based on the theme’s difficulty and genre,
and especially! If you love the Maple IP, just seeing how one of your favorite regions was reinterpreted in real life
could be a pretty fun experience all by itself.
That’s all for today’s post!
I’ll be back next time with another game story.
This was Dalnyang!
