Hello!
I’m Nexon Picker Fistime.

If you want to experience MapleStory in a slightly different way, MapleStory Escape Room Escape is well worth a look. It’s an interactive event built around the game’s IP, where you can step into real-world versions of in-game locations, solve puzzles with your group, and take part in the story itself.
As someone who regularly enjoys MapleStory and has always been interested in escape room cafés, I found this especially appealing. In this post, I’ll go over the five themes in MapleStory Escape Room Escape, along with how to book, the event period, and the goods available on-site.

1. Introduction to MapleStory Escape Room Escape

MapleStory Escape will run as a permanent attraction for about two years, from September 21, 2026 to September 20, 2028. Unlike limited-time events, this gives you a bit more room to plan your visit at your own pace.

The venue is at 90 Wausan-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, directly in front of the main gate of Hongik University’s Seoul campus.

The experience centers on five books in the Dimensional Library with blank endings. The idea is that you recover dimensional fragments from each story and use them to complete those unfinished endings.
To match that concept, five different themes based on MapleStory regions and content have been prepared. Because so many familiar settings appear here, longtime Maple players will probably feel a sense of recognition from the moment they start choosing a theme.

Even though all five are based on MapleStory, each one takes a very different genre approach. Picking your favorite region is one way to choose, but it’s also worth considering your group’s escape room experience and how comfortable they are with horror elements.

The first is ‘Kerning City, The Missing People’. It’s a thriller theme with a difficulty rating of 2 and a fear level of 2.
This one looks like it will show a darker side of the familiar Kerning City. I’m personally curious to see how a region we usually move through in-game feels when it becomes the setting for a thriller. It should appeal to players who enjoy Kerning City’s distinct atmosphere or prefer stories with a stronger sense of tension.

The second is ‘Challenge! Mu Lung Dojo!’. This is an arcade-style escape room themed around Mu Lung Dojo, where players test their strength in MapleStory.
Its fear level is 0, but its difficulty is rated 4, making it the toughest of the five themes based on the published criteria. Rather than a scary atmosphere, it seems like a better fit for those who want the fun of solving puzzles and taking on a challenge.

The third is ‘You’re Invited to the Haunted Mansion’. It is based on the Haunted Mansion that previously appeared in a Halloween event, and its genre is mystery.
Its difficulty is 2 and its fear level is 2, the same as Kerning City. Even so, the genre and setting are different, so it makes sense to choose based on whether you’re more drawn to a thriller or a mystery.

The fourth is ‘Edelstein The Beginning’. It follows a disappearance case unfolding in Edelstein, which can be seen as the hometown of the Resistance class group.
Its genre is infiltration, with a difficulty rating of 3 and a fear level of 0. This theme will likely be especially appealing to players who enjoyed Edelstein’s setting and the Resistance storyline. One thing to note is that this theme is scheduled to open on October 5, so be sure to check your visit date when choosing.

The last theme is ‘Mixed-Up Ludibrium’. Based on the preview image alone, it looks like something has gone wrong at Ludibrium’s toy factory.
Its genre is co-op, with a difficulty rating of 3 and a fear level of 0. If you want an experience that involves sharing ideas and working together with friends or acquaintances, this is one to keep in mind.
I’m also curious to see how Ludibrium’s toy-city atmosphere has been recreated in a real-world space. This theme is scheduled to open on October 12.
To sum it up, if horror elements feel like a 부담, I’d recommend Mu Lung Dojo · Edelstein · Ludibrium, while Kerning City · Haunted Mansion look like the better picks if you want a more tense atmosphere. That said, perceived difficulty and fear level can vary from person to person, so it’s best to treat the published ratings as a reference when choosing.
3. How to book MapleStory Escape

< Book Here >
MapleStory Escape can be booked through YES24 Ticket. Reservations for the following week’s sessions open every Monday at 10 AM. For example, on Monday, September 28, bookings open for sessions running from October 5 to October 11.
When I checked the booking page, every session was already sold out. If you have a specific theme and date in mind, it would be smart to coordinate with your group in advance and be ready right when reservations open.

The theme ticket includes admission for 2 people. If your group has 3 or more, you’ll need to pay an additional 29,000 won per extra person on-site.
For example, if 4 people are participating, you would pay 58,000 won at the time of booking and then another 58,000 won on-site for the 2 additional participants, bringing the total to 116,000 won.

The age requirement is 7 and older, and children ages 7–12 must be accompanied by an adult guardian. The notice also states that entry may be restricted for pregnant visitors, older guests, and those who are easily startled, so it’s worth checking before you book.
Guests may enter the space starting 20 minutes before the reservation time, and the full experience lasts 70 minutes total: 10 minutes of pre-content followed by 60 minutes of escape room content.
In particular, if you arrive more than 5 minutes late for your reservation time, entry to the space will be restricted, so it’s best to arrive with a little time to spare. If you’re visiting with friends, setting a meet-up time ahead of the reservation should make things easier.
4. MapleStory Escape goods and events

There are also commemorative goods prepared for visitors. When you take part in MapleStory Escape, you’ll receive 1 of 5 theme poster postcards.

In addition, if you complete all five themes, you can receive a film keyring. If one theme leaves you curious about the others, there’s an extra bit of fun in working through the rest while collecting the commemorative items too.

The SNS events are being run as follows. Both may end early once stock runs out, so if you plan to participate, it’s a good idea to check whether they are still available.

Separate goods are also sold on-site.

There is also a purchase event where spending 30,000 won or more on goods gets you 1 random character acrylic clip from a set of 5. This promotion is limited to 3,000 items.
However, gacha items that do not come with receipts are not included in the purchase event, so keep that in mind when calculating your total.

That wraps up this overview of the themes, booking method, and event period for MapleStory Escape Room Escape.
Personally, what interested me most was the way familiar Maple regions were reimagined as escape rooms across different genres. Even among players who all love Maple, one person may be more drawn to the challenge of Mu Lung Dojo, while someone else may be more interested in the mystery of the Haunted Mansion. Even the process of choosing a theme with your group sounds enjoyable.
I haven’t visited in person yet, but if I get the chance, I’d really like to see how these in-game locations have been recreated in the actual space. If you’re looking for something to enjoy with a friend who likes Maple, or if you already enjoy escape rooms, it’s worth checking which theme and booking date best fit your preferences.
