I think the satisfaction of a mobile RPG’s life content comes from turning materials I have gathered myself into useful items, then watching the results gradually fill a space of my own.

I recently started crafting furniture and decorating my home in Mabinogi Mobile. Watching the empty house slowly become a lived-in space has brought a sense of satisfaction quite different from anything I get from combat.

Max Level Reached, Time to Enjoy Life Content

Since returning as a level 85 Dancer last time, I have completed all the main quests and reached level 100. Getting my gear and runes set up has not always been easy, but I am continuing to improve my stats with help from guides that established players put together for the season I returned in.

After successfully clearing the basic raids and abyss content, I felt I could afford to play at a more relaxed pace. I decided it was time to explore the life content and home decorating I had been putting off.

I got a house as soon as I returned, but had left it alone with nothing inside except bedding and a table. This time, I browsed the crafting list to see what other furniture I could add.

It turned out that the Rare- and Elite-grade furniture I liked required a certain Decor Score to craft. I decided to start with green, High-grade furniture, making one piece at a time.

Finding the Materials I Needed

Many of the pieces I wanted to make called for logs, while sofas and beds also required wool. I gathered wood as I traveled and stocked up on wool whenever I stopped by Dunbarton.

The first thing I wanted to make was a pet bed. I felt a little guilty being the only one with a bed to sleep in.

The recipe called for Decor Crafting Parts, logs, and wool. Since Decor Crafting Parts are used in furniture crafting in general, I realized I should keep a steady supply coming in through fishing and purchases at the general store.

My next goal was a fireplace to make the house feel more inviting. The recipe called for a range of materials—stones, lumber, clay, logs, and a Flame Crystal—so gathering everything took me to several places.

Clay, in particular, took longer to gather than I expected. I collected it while digging up potatoes with a hoe, but by the time I had 160 potatoes, I had only 50 clay. All I had wanted was a fireplace, and I had ended up with an abundance of potatoes instead. Still, once I had enough materials, I was glad to finally be able to make it.

With something to enjoy looking at, it was time to add something to listen to. Crafting the “Elegant Music Box Decor Box” required steel ingots, iron ore, and Condensed Wind. Fortunately, I had saved those materials earlier, so I could make it right away. There was a quiet satisfaction in finally putting those stockpiled materials to use.

Finally, I chose a potted plant to bring a little freshness into the house. It required seedlings, clay, and a Life Mana Stone, with seedlings available at the furniture store or flower shop. I had never visited a shop to buy seedlings before, so even this small step in the process felt new.

A Home I Furnished Myself

Once I had arranged the bed, fireplace, lighting, potted plant, chest of drawers, and music box, the house looked quite different. I placed the pet bed near the entrance, with a campfire beside it for warmth. The space that had held nothing but bedding and a solitary table was beginning to look like a lived-in home.

Most of the furniture is still High-grade, so the house is nothing elaborate. Even so, I felt proud to have gathered the materials, crafted the furniture, and put each piece in place myself. The fireplace reminds me of digging up potatoes, while the music box brings back memories of the materials I had saved. Each piece of furniture has a small memory attached to it.

If someone had given me finished furniture, the house would have looked nicer sooner, but I do not think I would have felt the same sense of accomplishment. The pleasure of life content was not just in getting the finished item, but in the process of making it possible.

Next Goals: Decor Score and Background Music for My Home

Now I plan to raise my Decor Score so I can craft Rare- and Elite-grade furniture. At first, I thought furniture had to be placed in the house to increase my score. I learned that, for any piece I had not collected before, simply opening the crafted box and adding it to my collection was enough to earn Decor Score.

That gave me a clear next goal: craft each type of High-grade furniture to fill out my collection, while working toward the requirements for higher-grade pieces. I also appreciate that all the furniture I am making now is available through gathering and crafting, without spending real money.

The music box gave me another goal. After crafting it, I discovered that I currently had only three pieces of sheet music it could play. From what I have learned, some sheet music is available at the general store for gold or Heart Tokens, and there are also original scores composed by other players. I plan to set aside some time soon to take a closer look.
