The holidays often change how and where we play games.

We might spend time traveling to visit family or heading back home,
and staying with relatives can mean being away from our usual computer.
On the other hand, it can be a chance to head to a PC café
and play with family or relatives we have not seen in a while.

With that in mind, I recommend Mabinogi Mobile and Overwatch for this holiday break.
One is a convenient choice for playing on your own wherever you are,
while the other is well suited to playing with people you have not seen in some time.

🚆 Keep Playing Anywhere with Mabinogi Mobile

The first reason I recommend Mabinogi Mobile for the holidays is its accessibility.

All you need is a smartphone or tablet to keep playing on the trip to visit family or the journey home.
The same is true once you arrive at a relative’s house.
There may not be a computer available, or it might not be powerful enough to run your games.
More importantly, you cannot necessarily install your games on someone else’s computer whenever you like.

In situations like these, it is convenient to be able to start playing
on the smartphone or tablet you already use.

That does not mean spending long hours gaming over the holidays.

so I always buy seasonal items like these when they are added.
Logging in over the holidays to see a large full moon and hanbok in-game
makes the atmosphere feel a little different from usual.

Several events are also planned for this Chuseok.

First, there is a top-spinning side game.
This brings top-spinning, a traditional Korean game,
into Mabinogi Mobile,
making it a natural fit for the holiday.

The Erinn Under the Full Moon event is also taking place.
You help 추도령 and 추낭자, who have arrived in Erinn,
bring Chuseok celebrations to Erinn’s NPCs.
Along the way, you can enjoy helping to plan and run a moon-viewing festival.

There is also an event you can take part in while exploring dungeons and hunting grounds as usual.
Open an Unexpected Connections Songpyeon Set earned through gameplay
to receive songpyeon in various colors.
You can exchange the songpyeon you collect for hanbok and a range of items to help you in the game.

These Chuseok events fit naturally into your regular activities,
so if you play Mabinogi Mobile over the break, checking them out one by one could be an enjoyable part of your time in-game.

👾 Reuniting with Family over Overwatch

While Mabinogi Mobile is a relaxing option for playing on your own over the break,
Overwatch suits the holidays by giving you a way to play together.
If you head to a PC café with cousins or relatives you have not seen in a while,
I recommend trying a few games of Overwatch together.

Relatives you might play games with
may well have tried Overwatch before,
making it an easy game to suggest when you meet again after some time apart.

If anyone is new to the game, trying different heroes can be a fun way
for everyone to find a playstyle that suits them.
Even players unfamiliar with FPS games can start with heroes that are easy to control,
and playing as a group gives everyone a natural opportunity to help each other learn.

With the simple goal of sharing a few laughs and enjoying a few matches,
I think Overwatch is an even better fit for the holidays.

🏡 Time for a Game This Holiday Break

If I play games this holiday, I will likely choose between these two depending on the situation.

For something convenient to play on a smartphone or tablet while traveling,
Mabinogi Mobile is a good fit.
This Chuseok brings full moon decorations, hanbok, top-spinning, and songpyeon events,
offering plenty of ways to enjoy the holiday atmosphere in-game.

If you head to a PC café with family or relatives you have not seen in a while,
Overwatch is a good choice for playing together.
It can be a chance to reminisce about past gaming sessions,
or to log back in after a while and enjoy exploring new heroes and battlefields.
