Have you all decided what game you’re playing this holiday?

When I’ve got a little more free time than usual, like during a holiday, I usually choose what to play based on what device I can actually use.

If I’m at home or can stop by a PC bang, so I can stay on a PC for a while,

I’ll play MapleStory, where I can slowly work through leveling or events I’d been putting off,

and if I’m out and about or using a PC isn’t really an option, I’d recommend Mabinogi Mobile, since it’s easy to hop into on your phone.

Especially this Chuseok holiday, the Catch! Teenieping collab has started in MapleStory,

and Chuseok events have started in Mabinogi Mobile too, so both are fun to enjoy with a slightly different vibe than usual 👍

In this post, I’ll split things up into games you can enjoy leisurely at home or in a PC bang, and games you can play casually while on the move.

1. Holiday gaming?! Let’s pick based on the situation

Even during a holiday, not everyone spends the whole day at home, right?

Some days you really can stay home, do absolutely nothing, and just game,

but on other days you might be traveling to see family or spending time outside.

So when I’m choosing what to play during a holiday, the first thing I decide is “what kind of setup can I play in right now?”

When I was younger, I always used to travel no matter what, but now even during holidays, sometimes I stay home and rest, and sometimes I end up traveling with family.

during the holiday, I actually think it’s nice to do the opposite and clear the content you’ve been putting off because you never had the time, one by one.

2. What if you’re somewhere you can game on PC?

If you’re somewhere like home or a PC bang where you can sit down at a PC and play for a while, I’d definitely recommend MapleStory.

On normal days, Maple is often the kind of game where you just clear the essentials like dailies or bosses and log off,

but when you’ve got extra time, it’s perfect for slowly working through character leveling or even weekly content you’ve been putting off.

When you’re raising a bunch of characters because of Link Skills or Union,

“I really should start leveling this one soon too...”

and before you know it, you’ve got one or two characters just sitting there untouched ㅋㅋㅋ

And perfect timing—Personal Burning has started too, which makes this a great time to bring those characters back out.

• Personal Burning + Hyper Burning are great for catching up on neglected character leveling

Personal Burning, which started on September 17, is an event that lets you progress based on your character’s current growth status.

It gives you 30 stages of customized growth missions based on the participating character’s current level and EXP status,

and you can also pick up extra rewards through Personal Monsters and the coin shop.

The event runs from September 17, 2026 to November 18, 11:59 PM.

Personally, what I like about having a growth event like this during a holiday is that it gives you a reason to go, “I should raise this one someday...”

and finally come back to a character you’d been putting off.

It also feels less overwhelming because instead of making you start completely from scratch, it gives you growth missions tailored to your character’s current state.

That said, only one character per account name can participate in Personal Burning, and once you assign it, you can’t cancel it,

so it’s best to decide which character you want to raise before joining.

So if I were playing Maple this holiday, I’d recommend starting with something simple like this:

“Pick one character you really want to raise this time → follow the Personal Burning missions”

If you’ve got a character you kept putting off because the timing never felt right, now?! YES, now is the time.

And on top of Personal Burning, the coin shop is open right now too, so if you’re looking to boost your specs,

I’d definitely recommend making sure you take advantage of that coin shop chance as well.

• Fashion lovers, come here for a sec..! Let’s check out the MapleStory x Catch! Teenieping collab

If you keep doing nothing but leveling, you’ll burn out pretty fast, so it’s nice to check out the Catch! Teenieping collab in between.

Starting September 17, sales of new MapleStory × 캐치! 티니핑 items began,

and collab products including the Catch! Teenieping Goods Collection were added. The sales period is from September 17, 2026 to October 21.

They even released Teenieping magnetic pets too..?! ㅎ..

Honestly, I was a little... shocked lol. Seeing the Teeniepings show up in 3D on a 2D pixel screen feels kind of...

a bit unusual, but I still think I’m going to pick up the collab items this time.

The name tag came out especially pretty this time.

So instead of feeling like you have to spend the whole holiday grinding levels,

level a character a bit with Personal Burning → take a break and check out what kind of OO-ping outfits other people made → go back to leveling ... that kind of laid-back loop sounds pretty nice too.

3. What if you need something to play on the go?

On the flip side, holiday travel time can get pretty long too ㅠㅜ

If you’re in the car, on public transit, or just spending a lot of time outside..!

then instead of a PC game, a game you can jump into right away on your phone is just way more convenient.

For times like that, I want to recommend Mabinogi Mobile, which I started recently and have been playing.

After trying it myself, it doesn’t really feel like a game where you have to spend long stretches in combat, and it also has stuff you can enjoy in short bursts, like performance or life content,

so it felt really nice for hopping into while traveling or whenever you’ve got an awkward chunk of free time.

And this time, Chuseok-themed events have started too!

• Clear the Chuseok quest and get a hanbok!

Rather than making you repeatedly grind separate event content, it’s set up so you can naturally earn what you need just by playing dungeons or hunting grounds like usual, which makes it super convenient since you don’t need to run a special dungeon for it.

What do you even get from doing the Chuseok quest? If you keep up with the quests regularly, you can get... wow..!

a chance to get a hanbok outfit.

It’s a dyeable hanbok too, so I quickly started dyeing mine and even updated my Stellagram for Chuseok.

• If you want a minigame, play a quick round! Spin Tops Together

In this Chuseok update, the content that personally feels the most holiday-themed to me is ‘Spin Tops Together!’

It’s a new side game you can launch right away from Menu → Side Game,

and during the event period, you can also get rewards based on how many times you play.

For 1 play, you get 50,000 gold, and for 2 and 3 plays, you get 5 dye items each,

and the event runs from September 17 to October 1, 5:59 AM.

It kind of has that old-school game vibe that comes to mind at least once when family gets together for the holidays...

and more than anything, unlike dungeons or bosses, you don’t need to lock in for a long session, so it’s great for casually playing a round or two when you’ve got a little time while traveling, which is why I think it’s such a nice minigame for passing the time.

4. Final recap: how to choose your holiday game

In the end, choosing what to play during the holiday gets a lot easier if you first think about where you are and how comfortably you can play.

Start there, and it’s surprisingly simple.

If it were me, I’d break it down like this:

✔ I can sit in front of a PC and play comfortably. → Use MapleStory Personal Burning to raise a character you’d been putting off, or work through things you usually delay because of time, like bosses or weekly content, one by one. If you get tired halfway through, casually check out the Catch! Teenieping collab or some fashion too. ✔ I’m on the move or spending a long time outside → Briefly log into Mabinogi Mobile on your phone to gather songpyeon, or enjoy short side games like top spinning. ✔ I don’t want gaming itself to feel like homework → Try content you don’t usually do. In MapleStory, that could be fashion or raising a neglected character, and in Mabinogi Mobile, things like performance, life content, or side games that usually get pushed down your priority list are nice options too.

For me, rather than forcing myself to play just one game all day because it’s a holiday, I’ll play Maple at home or in a PC bang,

and then when I go outside or lie down in bed, I switch on Mabinogi Mobile instead,

and honestly, swapping based on the situation feels less overwhelming and makes it easier to enjoy for longer

└ That’s basically just.. gaming all the time..

Whew..! For people who think gaming on a day off counts as rest, playing games during the holiday is really more about

“I finally got to leisurely do the things I normally never had time for.”

I think that feeling matters more.
